The next generation rifle from Sako is here. The S20 is a feature-rich modular rifle that can grow with you, as you switch from Hunting to Precision Shooting and back. The S20 Hunter features a unique design that offers lightweight, but great rigidity due to its internal aluminum skeleton. Offering an adjustable cheek piece and soft-touch pistol grip coupled with a trigger that can be adjusted on the front and back by a total of 7mm, the hunter will feel in perfect symmetry with the S20. The replaceable forend of the Hunter repeats the soft-touch material for optimum contact and has QD mounts on both sides to match the stock. The new receiver has a full-length bedding design for ultimate stability and reliability and houses a brand-new stainless steel, 3 lug bolt with over 75mm of contact area for the most engagement and safety. Another new feature is the picatinny rail machined into the top of the receiver, meaning more rigidity for the user. Engaging the safety on the S20 brings up a firing pin block, giving the user peace of mind in even the most rigorous conditions. The barrel of the S20 is a stainless-steel fluted design with a Cerakote finish for durability and great looks. The barrel incorporates a 5/8 x 24 Threaded crown with an included protection cap.

1 year agoLove this rifle in 6.5 PRC. Everything is excellent. I showed groups (factory Nosler and Norma) to a friend of mine who is into Long Range Shooting and hunting and he said "Why do I spend all this money on custom rifles when this Sako shoots as well out of the box with factory loads as my customs do with reloads?". Complaints, not really complaints, just two things I wish were better, it could be lighter and I wish the stock, which I really like in both configurations (I have a Target also!) could be a little bit grippier. Far from a deal breaker. As far as the weight I stumbled on a Tikka Hunter, which is in the family so to speak, in 260 Remington (hard to find) which groups within a tenth or two of what the Sako's do and is light weight and will certainly do the job for those long walk hunts. 6,5 is a great caliber I am glad to see they finally caught on in the US after all these years I had a buddy who invented a 6.5 wildcat, similar to the 6.5 PRC, 25 years ago for silhouette shooting and that obviously made a big impression on me.

1 year agoI have experience with about 15 other bolt action rifles. It is early in the use…but I think this rifle is great. Sako seems to have taken the Tikka T3X and have upgraded key features on the S20. The bolt is very smooth, the bolt handle in my opinion seems perfect, and the trigger is crisp. The integrated pic rails are a good idea, though some may not like the thought of not getting the rail with a 10 or 20 MOA rise. I have never had a thumb hole stock; however, I am very experienced with the AR-15, M4, and M16. I found the stock to be very comfortable and aiding me in getting a solid grip for hunting types shooting positions. I really like the adjustable cheek rest. The magazine is good and not over priced like the Sako A7 or 85. Ok….now let’s talk about the most serious item for all rifles….accuracy. As I said up front it’s early but so far the Sako S20 is showing some amazing accuracy. No reloads yet, just box ammo (Berger and Nosler). Nosler gave me a .7 inch at 100 yards and Berger gave me a 9 shot group with an average of .5 inch. Again it is early but cleaning the barrel is easy, it is so smooth, this has been an indicator that a rifle is accurate. I bought the 6.5 PRC and love it. Looking forward to a windy Rocky Mountain day to test outside. Euro-optic is awesome, so glad they have these in stock and for such a great price.

1 year agoThe rifle is an excellent build with well thought out features. Accuracy is terrific. I especially like the aluminum chassis. I shoot for hunting purposes, but really like to run the precision butt stock with the hunting forend. After trying out a few handload options, I developed a load that will shoot one ragged hole. Couldn't ask any more from a factory rifle. I now have purchased multiple firearms and scopes from Eurooptic and highly recommend this company.

1 year agoOne of the best rifles I own! This is my 3rd SAKO and I love this rifle. What I love the most is the ease of adjusting the trigger travel and pull. Awesome!
