Remington Sportsmans Hi-Speed Steel 12 Gauge 3in #4 1-1/4oz Waterfowl Shotshells – 25 Rounds – All the dependability and performance you’d expect from Remington ammunition without breaking the bank. Sportsman Hi-Speed Steel’s sealed primer, high quality steel shot, and consistent muzzle velocities combine to provide reliability in adverse weather, while delivering exceptional pattern density and retained energy. An economical, high-speed steel load that’s ideal for short-range high-volume shooting during early duck seasons, or over decoys. Sportsman Steel works equally well in upland situations that require the use of non-toxic shotshells.
- 8 g/cc Density
- 1400 FPS Muzzle Velocity

1 year agoIve been shooting the 1550 fps 2's and BB's for 3 years now and I havent had a problem. Not a single dud and not a single jam either for over 6000 shells. They do shoot a little dirty but thats no biggy, i hit my 870 with a compressor after every hunt anyways. As for power, these pack one hellofa punch. I am very confident that these will reak havock on anything out to 50 yrds. As an example, i stoned a 12 lb honker at 50 yds with an old 1350fps #4's. If for what ever reason you need something with more power the nitro steel is a buriser even compared to this stuff. The shot is uniform and the shells are water tight so you dont have to worry about getting them wet like a few other brands. Great price too!

1 year agobeen using this for duck hunting and its been doing great! never had a misfire or jam from them! hits the ducks quite hard too! lots of penitration and even have a few pellets go completly through the brest of a few ducks! great price for what your getting! i think it shoots better than some of the higer end loads ive shot.

1 year agoI used these for years and can not complain. Went to Winchester a couple of years ago and have not been happy with the results. I plan on going back to the sportman this year. If you can afford them try the new Rem. Hypersonic shells I did on teal this year and they were great.

1 year agowent out during california's geese "teaser"(oct.2-oct.6) on oct. 5 2010 with one box of these in 3 1/2" #2 and my 870 super mag with a mod choke and shot my limit of 8 large canadian geese. The birds were at distances from 10 yards directly above me to 40 yards out, needless to say the shells did their job, no cripples, recoil was tolerable, very cheap price.

1 year agoI have used these shells in 12ga 2 3/4 in and 3 in #4 shot very effectively on ducks and geese. I would recommend it to anybody. It is worth the price you pay for it.

1 year agoI use 3 1/2" #2 in my Baikal MP-153 works great kills ducks up to a 50 yards or an odd goose and above all the price is right.Everybody say use black cloud or hypersonic I say these do just as good job at half price cheers.

1 year agoI have used these shells for many years as they are a great value for the price. I have had very few jams or miss fires. I have used 3 & 4s for the most part. I am referring here to the 1400 fps 3". I would not recomend the 3 1/2 as in the cases (2) I have gone through, I beleive I had about a5% jam rate (SBE) I have always had good success but have had a good number of cripples. All the same, they are reliable, and take down ducks quite well.

1 year agoi've been using these shells religiously for 4 years. opening weekend i used my last 3 boxes from what was left from last year, i was killing birds. now my dog hates me she's doing more work than ever, nothing but wounded ducks. i make on average 35 hunts a season, i ordered 2 cases again like normal, these shots no longer pattern well, they dont kill birds, i have completely broken down my shotgun 5 times so far this season cause the shells are leaving every thing in the chamber. they have become straight up garbage. 4 of my hunting friends all switched to the same shots that ive been using because of the success ive had with taking the ducks to certain death, now their all cursing me , lol. we've had many hunts this season where we're knocking boat loads of feathers off of decoying ducks and watch them fly off and never see them fall till they're a 6-7 hundred yards away. dont know what remington did to these shells.

1 year agoChanged from 18 years of Nitro-Steel to Sportsman Steel four seasons ago. Have not seen a drop-off in results; in fact, have seen my birds/shot ratio improve (I keep detailed logs). While this may not be soley because of the ammunition, it does tell me that the Sportsman load I've settled on will kill ducks if I do my part. Good value in non-tox ammo.

1 year agoNo. 2's pattern very well with my Browning Silver. I use No 2's for all Canadas, snows, and specs. This load drops em well. Have tried the Remington Hyper-Sonic 1700 fps shells with this size of shot, patterns ok but almost 50% more money. Don't notice enough difference to switch to HyperSonics only. For the value these shells provide good speed and accuracy. Don't plan on switching any time soon.

1 year agoThe ammo is as always good ammo, the order by phone was quick and easy, but trying to order on line was crazy and did not even show BPS had the product!!!

1 year agoI'm hunter with many years of experience. But used once just the first time for goose hunting and I had to say I satisfied for the price/quality of this product completely.

1 year agoThe 3 1/2 inch shells regularly jam in both mine and my partners shotguns. We never have problems with any other brand

1 year agoI used these shells in my new 12 guage pump and 1/3 of them did not fire when I pullled the trigger. The hole box of shells was like that. Since that day ive used different kinds of shells and never had a promblem with any of them not firing.

1 year agoWhen the geese were hit with a load of Rem HS steel 3" BB it was instant lights out but then the problems started. Every second round the hull would get stuck in the chamber and couldnt be extracted by the guns extractors, which has cycled hundreds and hundreds of nonrem ammo with no issues. This required using a hastly cut willow branch to pound out the empties, all while hunkered down and Canadian geese zipping over head .. Talk about red rage... Brass hull expansion seems very excessive. Switched to Federal or Kent or Challenger (wicked goose load and very cheap) and had 100% reliability .. No more Remington junk for me ... Gave them to my neighbour ... LOL .

1 year agoI first bought these shells over five years ago for duck and geese hunting and pushed them through my Benelli Nova no problem I've killed three ducks with three shots more than I can count but the most recent box purchased 3 months ago are junk and so is the many boxes I tried after that if I shoot they won't eject or they won't even fire at all I was very disappointed with the performance of what use to be a great shot gun shell

1 year agoBought a case of 3 inch #2 shot, shoots great out of my Benelli but doesn't bring birds down well. shot a goose 3 times inside 40 yards and the bird just kept flying

1 year agoDuring the shut-down with people hording most everything, found myself needing to stock up on ammunition. Placed a order on Cabala's online service and experience was excellent. Processing, communication and fast delivery is service I come to expect. Thank's to all the employee's involved. RedHemiToad
