The Colt 1911 is always a sufficient weapon, especially with JHP rounds. When you've run out of ammo, it makes a good club. Fit and finish are standard Colt . If I needed another, I'd buy another Colt.

Got this because I wanted a .45 ACP, and what better option than the iconic 1911? Wanted as close to the original as possible.

I requested to be alerted when the
Colt Government was available. A month later I received an email saying it was available, I jumped on it and picked it up at my local Sportsman Warehouse. Love it

This government model 1911 is so much fun to shot and very accurate even with the original sites, I do get hammer bite and am considering putting a commander hammer, but will most likely buy a Colt Competition 45acp instead. You Can Never Have to many Colts.

It’s just like I remembered it! Took a bit to remember how to assemble and disassemble but with the help of the manual I figured it out. Shoots well and is accurate even with iron sights. I’d recommend getting one!

Nice gun. Not all 1911 A1’s are created equal. Colt and Springfield Armory make the best in my experience. The Colt is beautiful. I had some trigger work done on mine to lighten the pull to my liking. Great pistol!

It was not an 8 plus 1, it only fit 7. But with a little modification it is an 8 plus 1 now. And it would be nice if Colt would give you an extra mag. Other than that it is the real deal. DB

It's a little pricey, but if you want an actual old-school Colt .45, it's well worth the money. It looks and feels like an old GI style M1911(A1) but nicer. Definitely a must-have for any collection. However the title is incorrect, the finish is blued not black, and the magazine holds 7 rounds not 8. That being said, I haven't had any issues with different magazines (even cheap ones) and it doesn't seem to be picky with ammo either

The pistol is great and the service from Gun.com couldn't have been better. I'd been wanting a new Colt 1911, series 70 for a while and couldn't find one anywhere until I cam across the Guns.com website. I was hesitant to buy a gun on line, but decided to give them a try. I could not be happier. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I really enjoy shooting this pistol. Accurate, as I expected. What I didn’t expect was that a 45 would have such a gentle recoil. ( my first 1911) . Great price too from Guns.com. Shipped quickly with no problems and no problems with the FFL gun shop /range here in Spartanburg (C&C Range ) . Quite pleased .

Despite being a retired law enforcement, I never considered myself to be a "gun guy." Yet It was my ambition to acquire a genuine Colt 1911 for a few years. This was my first experience purchasing a fire arm in this manner. I could not have been better and more professionally served. Now Im looking to pick up a Colt Detective Special, as another r...Read More

Overall I’m happy with the purchase through Guns.com. I ordered on a Saturday evening and I picked it up the following Friday. Love the firearm however mine arrived with a small blemish/scratch above the safety. I don’t believe this was due to shipping or Guns.com, other colts I have had a blemish from the factory. The price was a tad high but it ...Read More

I have been searching for a replacement for the 45 that I had stolen several years ago. Once you owned a Colt you have to replace it with another Colt.
