Excellent fit and finish, nice crisp trigger pull, slim grips will fit smaller hands, shoots to point of aim out of the box. big smiley

Top notch 1911. You won't find a better production 1911 on the market. Springfield is tops. I like the simplicity of the Garrison ... all I need is a beaver tail, extended single thumb safety, lowered and flared ejection port, and no guide rod ... bare basics of what you need and nothing else. Blue finish is top notch on a forged frame and slide. Couldn't be happier. Was waiting for SA to come out with this model.

I liked the weight of it in my hand. Feels durable and dense. It's a. 45ACP but the recoil feeling more like a .380. The added weight served a function and Fashion both.

received 191 Garrison in just a few days in undamaged box and in excellent condition. Always excellent service from Grab A Gun. Garrision was field stripped, cleaned and reassemled, ready for the range. Replaced the OEM grips with a Hougue wrap around for better comfort and handling for me. That is my standard for all my pistols. I have yet to be on the range as the weather has been my excuse! Hope to go next week.

Gorgeous gun. I couldn't decide between stainless steel and Blued. So I bought them both! 1911 Forever!

Very Nice 1911 and excellent craftmanship, the salt bluing finish is very nice and the gun has woked flawlessly with every type of ammo used. Would highly recommend

The tumb safety is over sized and sucks for people with larger hands. Other than that it's a very nice pistol.

Nice looking 1911 with the flats polished and matte rounds. I would call this combat tight in the fit. Pistol is fit very well, slide to frame fit has minimal play. Barrel is fit fairly tight to the slide without being too tight to need a bushing wrench to remove the barrel bushing. The trigger was crisp if heavy @ 5 pounds 14 ounces average. An aftermarket sear spring would fix that. The factory 7 round magazine is harder to load than the new 8 round magazines I have. It works well

The Garrison has everything you want in a good quality 1911. Springfield armory makes some of the best 1911’s and the Garrison is no exception. I would recommend it to new or experienced shooters.

Flawless operation in first 100 rounds or so. Accurate with ball ammo. Good trigger pull. No creep or overtravel.Nice bluing job. Would have been nice to have come with extra magazine.

Fantastic design of great features that are all required for the perfect 1911. FINISH was deep blue with a stainless match barrel. SLIM SA logo wood grips, Regular grips will not work unless you change the bushings.. Tight slide to frame fit with a.clean trigger break.. ONE 7 round blue unmarked magazine. CARDBOARD box also contains a nice black SA nylon pistol pouch and booklets. This is a pistol you will never need to upgrade. I have not fired this yet.

I just received the Springfield Garrison .45 ACP. Has a good feel and I like the three-dot sight. I'm right handed, so the lack of an ambidextrous safety is no concern to me. I'm looking forward to firing it, but our ND weather isn't conducive to outdoor testing here at the farm. Indoor ranges are hours away. The front strap isn't serrated, which ...Read More Read more about review stating farmer

Springfield Armory is top notch quality for a fair price. The Garrison is a souped up 1911, I love it. I wish Springfield included two magazines, it can't add much to their cost.

...but not without its flaws. Springfield nonetheless has great customer service and was able to address some feeding issues. At this price point though, and for the overall craftsmanship it's worth it.

A very well made pistol. First 500 or so rounds and everything is working perfectly. Solid, steady and accurate. I would recommend this to anyone

Functions perfect right out the box very tight tolerances. Only thing to remember is it’s a lot darker than the picture shows, picture appears more gray but in person is black even the grips are dark stain. Still looks great.

The pistol was used reportedly but I doubt if a box of 45 was shot through it. It is that clean. The odd thing is the heave smell of cologne as if it was going on a date. Beyond that, the price was perfect and the condition is as well.

Very well made pistol. Very classic with just the right amount of features to make it a joy to shoot. I was looking for a classic 1911 without a light rail air front serrations. This one checks all the boxes for me. Forged frame and slide with a match grade barrel. Shot 250 rounds through it so far with no malfunctions. The finish is beautiful but does atract fingerprints. Highly recommend it.

Fired a couple hundred rounds through it so far without any malfunctions. The safety and trigger both have a good crisp break. As a novice handgun shooter, I was able to shoot fairly good groups at 10 and 15 yards. Would reccomend for anyone looking to buy a budget friendly 1911 while still holding good quality.

Springfield Garrison 45 is a must have for several reasons. Its slim design excellent for conceal carry, has little recoil and is dependable every time. My wife has decided she needs a springfield garrison 45 also after firing a few shots.
