For a concealed weapon this gun is hard to beat. I love the light weight and easy concealability. The performance center did a wonderful job with smoothing out the action and is well worth the extra money. Thanks Grab A Gun for a smooth easy transaction.

I've got to say I'm not impressed. Yes, its a beauty, lightweight and easy to conceal, trigger isn't great, being a "Performance Center" version I expected a smoother and easier pull. I have a similar pistol made by Taurus, for less than half the price, and the trigger pull is only slightly better on the Smith, if at all. Glad I did't get the non Performance Center version!

When the FFL dealer handed me the box I thought Grabagun forgot to include the revolver. Fine service from your company for a great gun. For anyone thinking of buying one, it is a great concealed carry option, especially in summer when you aren't wearing much clothing. Plenty of punch in 38 special. You probably will need to practice because it does kick a lot due to the lightness but I've seen experienced guys with no problem hitting a six-inch target at 7 yards time after time. I'm not there yet. ;-)

No arguing how small and light it is - almost derringer-like. You could put it in your front pocket and forget it's there with no 'printing.' It's handsome with that laminate grip, and cheapest path to SW perf center pantheon. Only problem is you'll dread shooting it. Really rattles the wrist and carpals - add to that the 'horseshoes and hand grenades' accuracy of the 1 7/8" barrel and you'll never want to practice with this gun that's supposed to save your skin. Now I wish I'd have gone for a Ruger Sp101 3" barrel.

I like the ease of use loading, cleaning, etc. I don't like the built-in sites. The rear sight is kind of impractical

Wasn’t too impressed with the “Performance Shop”. The timing was slightly off and the trigger pull was a bit on the heavy side for Performance Center gun.

Light and easy to conceal. The Performance Center trigger is smooth and not as heavy as a regular 642. The gun doer have quick a kick when fired, but that is expected due to it's light weight and short barrel. I would recommend this gun to someone looking for a 38 special +P revolver for conceal carry.

Not only is it a good looking handgun, it's very compact, light and easy to carry. I was pleasantly surprised how light and smooth the trigger pull is. The custom wood grips are attractive and fit my medium size hands comfortably. You can't go wrong with the Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 642. I'm not only very happy with this revolver but Sportsman's as well, they're online firearm selection is phenomenal, along with fair prices. The store personal's customer service was outstanding. I highly recommend the S&W Performance Center 642.

Best feeling revolver i have shot yet. Surprisingly accurate for the size of the revolver, if you can hold it on the targer it will hit where its aimed. Great purchase

The Performance Center version of the 642 has the best double-action I’ve found in a small revolver. Trigger pull is smooth with no staging and the break is clean. It’s worth the price.
