Magtech 9mm Luger 124gr LRN Ammunition 50rds – 9E

I have a brand new sig p229 in 9mm. These Magtech rounds (which I previously shot in the range's rental block 19) caused my sig to double feed three different times. It was a good price in bulk but still frustrating to a new gun owner such as myself.

I would recommend this for range use and target shooting but absolutely not for a home defense situation. I had two failure to fires within my first 250 rounds of using this. Bad primers - both from different boxes. This was being run through a brand new CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical and the indentation left by the firing pin was very pronounced.

Shoots just fine. Over dozens of boxes over dozens of years, this 124-grain Magtech ball has proven to be completely reliable and decently accurate out of a variety of pistols (see the attached photo for a benched 10-yd exemplar group from a 3" Beretta Nano pocket pistol - which is not the easiest gun in the world to shoot well). This is reliable ammunition with standard accuracy. Although, this ammunition has the benefits of both packed and loose ammunition due to the protection the box and plastic carrier offers and the small footprint the plastic carrier uses. This is my favorite FMJ for this reason. That design is genius!

I was having issue with my Walther CCP ejecting and loading using Federal Syntech 130, this Magtech is a dream! No issues with ejecting or loading, all 8 rounds in the clip, multiple times over, so so nice! I can fire with confidence again. I was beginning to think it was my weapon, So glad it is just something with that "other" ammo.

Ammo worked great. I have no issues every time I use Magtech ammo. Training over a long weekend of 40+ hours and thousands of rounds and this stuff just worked. Bullets go "bang!" Leaves a hole at different locations in the paper target, faster than the eye can see.

I've put just over 1500 rounds of this ammo through my G34 with exactly two FTF's. Reasonably accurate - not the cleanest, but not the dirtiest either. Definitely my goto ammo for this gun.

Used last weekend for CCW training, ran about 200 rounds in a G26 and had no issues, and clean up was not as dirty as some other low cost ammo. Great price, first time using MagTech. Will buy more in the future.

this is great ammo....this use to be my go to before covid and now the current administration crisis..it is quality and reliable and the cases are great for reloading. Quality cases compared to others. The price is still high though at 50 cents a round. Lets not forget that... Its a good price for the times, yes its true, but still too high for the common man.

Ive been thru 3,000rds of this Magtech 115gr. Its the perfect ammo to buy in bulk. Brass case is easily re loadable. If you wait for the best deals this ammo can be had for the same price or cheaper than steel case. Never had a malfunction in a range of firearms. Seems consistent. A+ in my book

I bought several boxes when they were generously on sale. Id certainly buy more if they go on sale again. It comes in a nice enough box and the bullets are in a nice plastic holder. There was nothing especially good about it and I wouldnt prefer it over any other ammo beyond the sale price. There was also nothing at all to criticize it for. MagTech 9mm 115gr FMJ has been one of my two "GOTO" range ammo selections for my SigPro 9mm. It is very well made, consistent, and uber accurate at no matter what range I use it at from 10m to 25m. The MagTech ammo is so much cleaner than Fiocchi, CCI Blazer, and even Winchester White Box, that it's not even funny. In over a 1000 rounds fired, I have not experienced a single FTF, or FTE.
