2 years agoHad a little trouble with a few rounds extracting, threw on a new spring kit from Wilson Combat now everything works outstanding. Just a minor hiccup, but I am overall satisfied with my purchase and the pistol. Grabagun also replaced the case it came in. Customer service was outstanding. Looking forward for future business.

2 years agoOrdered in the day the rebate expired and got an extra 50 off. Just a home run all the way. Great gun. Rock Island does a great job for the money. You'll need to spend twice as much to see a significant difference. Very solid and well made. If you want a firearm that works and looks good with out the big name this is it.

1 year agoI didnt expect much based on the what the 1911 "snobs" told me. They were wrong. It is a little rough around the edges but this 1911 shoots damn good right out of the box. Tight groups. 200 rnds of FMJ so far and no FTF's or problems at all. I have Colts and Kimbers and this workhorse has earned a place in my safe. Cant beat it for the price.

1 year agoIts a little rough around the edges but its a great shooter, tight groups right out of the box. I almost didnt buy it because the 1911 snobs told me not to. Glad I didnt listen to them. And I have 1911's, Colts, Kimbers. Earned a place in the safe, 200 rnds so far and no problems.

1 year agoThis is a budget 1911, but the one I received is on par with my $1000+ 1911's. Has run flawlessly for 500 rounds. Grabagun is great as always, fast shipping and good prices

1 year agoVery very smooth shooting gun for the price and I would recommend it to anyone if they’re interested in a 1911.

1 year agoFirst day, 300 rounds not one failure! I think I'm going to love this one, sights are right on out of the box. It ran 4 types of ammo and 3 different types of magazines no problems! I really tried to make it fail, but it wasn't having any of that.

1 year agoNice trigger and very smooth action, feels like a much pricier 45. I'm quite pleased with it. Good groupings and excellent trouble free performance. This was a bargain for the price!

1 year agoFirst off a huge thank you to Grab A Gun. I love these folks. Great inventory and great prices. They don't play the CC vs cash price game like some retailers, are you listening Bud's? Shipping charges are cheap and they ship fast. I own several full size 1911's in 45 acp, but I wanted one in 9mm since the ammo is cheaper. After reading all of the reviews, I thought that I would give RIA a try with this gun. This gun did the trick and doesn't break the bank. All of the positive … Read More

1 year agoAfter a good cleaning I fired 150 rounds through the new pistol this past weekend. I ran ammunition from three different brands of 9mm 115 grain ammo. The pistol performed flawlessly with no issues whatsoever. I believe it shoots as good as my Colt .45 Series 70 Government. I would recommend this particular RIA to anyone seeking a very good 1911 at a great price.

1 year agoVery nice gun, I wanted to see what a 1911 was like before spending a LOT of money... Maybe..just maybe I won't need to buy a more expensive one. The only problems are a once in a while feed problem and a couple of "stovepipes" Hopefully after a few hundred round this will "break in"...if not I'll get in touch with Rock Island...

1 year agoI h I hear complaints about only one magazine. Me, I’ll find my own magazines just keep the price and quality as is.

1 year agoWell made and and easy to shoot. Nice entry level 1911, especially if your not looking to spend the big bucks! The only draw back is I'm accustomed to carrying Glock so the magazine round count of 8+1 is taking me some time to get use to.

1 year agoA great value. The rock Standard has been reliable so far. You will need to break it in, so expect some feed issues during your first 100-200 rounds, but after that it eats any ammo i put through it without problems Pros: - Reliable and well built - Good factory sights - massive aftermarket pool - exceptionally low recoil Cons: - oem grips are a little bulky, recommend REPLACING ($20+ est cost) - OEM magazine isn't great. Recommend replacing with Wilson Combat … Read More

1 year agoPut 50 rounds thru it this morning. No issues what's so ever. I'm 72 years old and from 25 yards I was still able to keep most in the 10 ring. i fired about 25 rounds from the 25 yard line. from 7 and 15 yards the firearm was highly accurate. The slide rides smoothly on the frame. My only complaint are the sharp lines on the trigger. Otherwise, it's a fine 1911. My 45ACP 1911 might be a safe queen for awhile as 9MM is cheaper to shoot.

1 year agoJust picked it up and have been practicing with snap caps. Amazing! Feels great, the trigger is crisp. A M1911 John Moses Browning would be proud of, Keep up the amazing work Arms Corp.

1 year agoI love this gun from Rock Island Armory. It is a fantastic example of a 1911 for a good price. The build quality is great, shoots accurately, and presents a great value. Mine came with wood and rubber grips which was a nice surprise. I would recommend this gun in .45 acp to anyone who needs a good home defense weapon or their first 1911. I am defi...Read More Read more about review stating Great 1911!

1 year agoOut of the box it was cleaned up with solvent and a light oiling. It had oil covering it pretty thick. I took it to the range and it would feed ammo thru it till the last round, then it wouldn't stay open. After a couple dozen rounds it would remain open waiting for its next full clip. I imagine the gun needs to be broke in. After the first and se...Read More Read more about review stating Rock Island Armory 1911 FS 9MM

1 year agoOverall I'm happy with the pistol. I have put approximately 300 rounds through this 9mm 1911 so far. It is accurate and functions well. The trigger is a bit sharp on the edges and the safety could use a little heavier detent as it flips on a bit too easily, but those are my only critiques so far. Those are small downsides compared with the features and classic feel you get to enjoy at just over 500 bucks.
