SBE 3 – the full redesign of the venerable Super Black Eagle platform. With carefully considered insights from pro-staff and veteran hunters, Benelli design engineers have spent nearly 10 years in development with a focus on three areas of critical importance to the serious waterfowler: Improved ergonomics, intuitive, flawless functionality and an updated design, style and feel for the latest in modern waterfowling reliability that’s all about the end game: Absolute superiority in the most unforgiving conditions.

Comfort Tech was the first of its kind. By splitting the stock diagonally and utilizing shock-absorbing chevrons, the entire stock was essentially turned into a recoil pad. This chevron system, now 13 years old, is still the most efficient design possible, and was the basis for the SBE 3 stock. The chevron size and location has been optimized on Comfort Tech 3. Furthermore, Benelli engineers have developed a new cheek comb pad, Combtech, which greatly reduces facial impact and vibrations.

Features:

EASY-LOADING SYSTEM

A beveled loading port, redesigned carrier and a new two-piece carrier latch have all been incorporated into the new SBE 3 to make loading the magazine effortless.

INERTIA-DRIVEN SYSTEM

The hallmark of Benelli strength and reliability, our clean-burning Inertia Driven System never requires adjusting, cycles consistently in conditions that border on the unfair and easily handles everything from light field loads to 3½” magnums. From a cleanliness and speed perspective, gas systems simply cannot compete—whereas Inertia-Driven Benelli shotguns are known to fire 500,000+ rounds and still function without flaw.

OVERSIZED BOLT HANDLE & SAFETY

A larger bolt release and safety, along with an outward angled drop lever make the SBE 3 quicker and easier to operate–even with gloved hands.

From Fur to Feathers, Palmetto State Armory has the Firearms, Firearms Accessories and Ammunition you need to bag that next trophy!

I used to shoot the super vinci, but got tired of all the work just to clean the gun and that the trigger guard would bite my shooting finger if I got lazy or excited and wrapped it on the trigger too much so I changed to the new SBE3. The gun did shoot high as it was initially setup. I changed the drop to fit me and now it shoots perfect. It may have a little more muzzle jump than the vinci - it's hard to tell for sure it shoots that well. The new design changes are great as well - the larger charging handle, bolt release and the bevel on the loading port is awesome. I can easily operate the safety and shoot the gun even with late season bulky, cold weather waterfowl gloves on. It's a pretty bomb-proof waterfowl gun - exactly what I bought it for. Perhaps the best thing is that I have yet to experience the "benelli click" as I have on the SBE2 and the super vinci. The extended chokes make quick swapping a snap. I've only used it on 10 hunts so far, but I have no complaints yet. Take down is quick and simple and I really like the new magazine cap.

I had been going back and forth on a few higher-end shotguns, but I am super happy to have purchased this one. Took it for a round of sporting clays immediately after purchase and fell in love with it. Both of my buddies shot it and fell in love as well. Regarding the review that says it shoots high: I haven't taken it to paper yet, but it did not appear to be firing high during a round of clays (however, it's a round of clays and not a fully choked turkey load). Very well balanced shotgun. Recoil is very light, my girlfriend who had never shot a shotgun wasn't even phased by it. Cycled the 2-3/4" target shells just fine with no jams or failures to load. Beware: after you shoulder it in the store, it'll be hard to leave without one!

Been shooting a sbe-2. Big difference in recoil when shooting 3.5". Worth the extra money if your shooting 3.5". Point of aim - must put bead under target with Kent shells.

I bought this shotgun after shooting a Stoger for 10 years. I couldn't wait to purchase this gun. After I purchased it the only thing that cycled faster then the gun was my love for it. Sure it's reliable and cycles like a dream, but that dosen't account for the fact that I can't hit anything with it. I'm an excellently shot and always have been. I instinctually look down the rail and bead down on the target. The rail and barrel do not even line up. I had to purchase a set of aftermarket tru glo sights, just so I can use the gun. Needless to say I have a huge case of buyers remorse.

I purchased this Benelli Super SBE III shotgun and loved the pointing, handling, and over-all speed of it's auto-loading. The problem is I cannot hit a barn door with it. Will not pattern heavy load waterfowl 3" and 3"1/2" hunting loads. Shooting consistently 8" to 12" high, and 8" and 12" to the left, and won't consistently pattern. I Researched on YouTube, and many other's having similar problems shooting heavy loads. Just shipped the shotgun back to Benelli today. Most likely will be trading the firearm off for another waterfowl shotgun.

I was a fan of the Benelli SBE 2 and, after hearing of the improved features on the SBE 3, decided to make the investment. Now I regret my decision. I like the new features overall, the only problem is I can't hit anything. I tried trap, waterfowl, pheasants, and paper targets and it consistently shoots about a foot high and somewhat left. I consulted with several shooting coaches, adjusted the shims, and tried to aim low, but still shot terribly. I am trading it in for another brand, at a loss.

This shotgun is fantastic. It’s light, quick to shoulder, easy to point, super easy to clean, and has very low recoil. Also, this gun will cycle loads as light as 1 oz. There have been many claims of this gun shooting high. I haven’t had any issues. For those of you that do, just stay below the target and adjust the stock with the shims.

Purchased one 8/27/2018, took it to the range. 1st shot - heavy metal 3" 275g #2 - 33 yards ranged - dead on. 2nd shot, 2 3/4" hent teal #6 same range - dead on. No shims, out of the box, factory choke - worked as all my Benelli's - excellent.

After waiting months for a left handed version of this gun, I took it out exactly one time to pattern test it. The pattern shot nearly 100% over the point of aim, with only a few stray pellets impacting at or under the point of aim. I sent the gun back to Benelli to have the pattern adjusted, only to have the gun come back with a pattern virtually identical to what it was before I sent it to them. The attached repair note said that the pattern was adjusted and the the gun “shot to Benelli specs.” That is, still with virtually no pattern under the aim point/100% high. Personally, I wonder if they did a thing to it. I am at a loss at what to do now, as the duck season is all but here and I am almost certainly going to lose season time if I send it back yet again. It’s a lose-lose for the customer at this point.

This gun is garbage out of the box. First volley of teal this season and it failed to eject shell 2 jamming shell 3. Second volley of teal, failed to eject shell 1 jamming shell 2. Kent fasteel. Will be getting a Beretta like I should have done to begin with.

I did a lot of research prior to purchase and all reviews were very positive about the SBE3. After I purchased, patterned, and missed a turkey I searched internet for shooting problems with SBE3 and I read complaints for days. I like the fit and finish, feel, and reliability of this gun but worthless to me if it shoots 6-10” high. I have heard of several solutions online but I don’t want to change my point of aim for this one gun in my inventory. Going to buy a Beretta this week.

Took out of box and put together. Patterned it, three shots dead on. Took to Stuttgart, Arkansas on a three day hunt and put it through the ringer. Gun performed flawlessly. Two and three quarter, three inch, didn't matter. Cycled right through all of them. Didn't go to 3.5 inch because I wasn't missing with three inch shells. Missed a few in the first morning but by the end of the first day I was on. From the second day on I was not missing anything.

I was concerned about the reports of it shooting high or not cycling with various loads. In the end I could not get past how good this gun felt in my hands, weight, aesthetics, bolt action is smooth like butter! I also liked the optifade look. I wanted a gun that could be abused and still be reliable. After purchase I discovered that I needed to adjust the shims (which are provided). I practiced shouldering the gun and patterned it to float the target. Cycling has been flawless no matter what load I have used. Most importantly when hunting, it hits the mark.

Life with a Black Eagle. Shoot at one bird and hit the one above it. Go for the head shot to kill a downed bird and miss it. I mean seriously can't they make these to be only 4 to 6" high?? Get a Montefeltro or M2 instead. Not sure anybody needs 3 1/2 as i can down plenty of Geese with 3" Black Cloud. Also don't need the headache either.

I waited to do my review until putting in a full duck season with it. I bought it in the Gore Optifade camo and put a HiViz sight on it. Everyone that sees and touches this gun is instantly jealous. It's so lightweight and feels great. It will shoot any load you throw in it. I never had one jam. It's easy to break down for cleaning. The finish is very durable. As for it shooting high.. Well if you read the instructions it specifically shows you how to shim it to a level POI with the included shims if that's what you want. It's troubling to know that people will take the time to leave negative comments online but not read their instruction manual first.

This gun is Great, been hunting with it for two seasons now. Ive never had problem with this gun once while hunting. The only thing I suggest is to get a pattern master choke and a stainless steel spring to make it even better than it is already.

Killing machine. If you pattern the gun and buy some Rob Roberts chokes you will not be disappointed. I put a supernova front bead on it since that is bigger than the stock bead along with adjusting the shims and it shoots dead on. You will not be disappointed if you pattern the gun to see what shoots well. I found that RIO and Federal shoot the best for me. Hevi-metal was even better but that stuff is expensive! I have used it the past two years and have never shot better.

I've wanted a SBE3 for awhile now, but there are a lot critics out there for this model. I was unsure but finally pulled the trigger. I couldn't be more happy I did. Gun patterned great out of the box, wasn't high like many reviews say. Patterned with the factory choke at 40 yards and was spot on where I had the bead placed. No need for the included shims, maybe I'm just an outlier who knows. I bought mine in the left hand configuration, and was disappointed that the bolt release and catch buttons weren't mirrored, but that is okay considering many manufacturers don't even make lefties. Overall I'm very pleased, and would make the purchase again. Just do your own research about the potential issues you may have I guess.
