1 year agoJust bought the A400 XP, saw a few old reviews from some forums but nothing but who knows if they are real or not.Could just benelli loving people who hate Beretta, who knows. Many said there were jamming problem every shot. Some said you need hi-brass in it, others said you need low brass in it. Some said you need the best shells money can buy to use the gun. I shot two full boxes of low end 2 3/4 shells that start with a winchest or something I got from a something-mart. The gun shot them like they were made for the gun. The recoil was a little less then a Beretta silver mallard of mine but not by a lot . Was perfect to say the least. Great little gun, cant wait until i can get it out shooting again. I have some 3 and 3 1/2 i want to run through it.

1 year agoPurchsed my new A400 Extreme Plus. Brought it home and wiped down areas with cosmaline then a light coat of Lucas gun oil. I took it straight to the range to bust Clay's. I purchased some 3" magnum rounds for a possible break in. I decided to try #8 shot 11/8 , 1250 fps Winchester rounds. They cycled perfectly, then put in 2 even lower brass rounds and cycled them as well. I've read some reviews mentioning a break in period. Fortunately I did not experience that issue.

1 year agoCycles all sizes without issues combined with great features. If you are looking for a semi auto shotgun, this is the one to buy!

1 year agoA little tricky at first putting it together but after reading the instructions multiple times I managed to get it done. Went to the range a few days later and am very happy with the handling when shooting a couple of rounds of trap. Looking forward to hunting season this fall.

1 year agoJust bought it. Did not come with an instruction manual although it is available as a pdf. You can order the printed version on the Beretta website but they are worthless because those manuals do not show the pictures referenced by the instructions (i.e. see figure 2, there is no figure 2 etc.) Called customer service ..... "Sorry that's all we have". There is a manual available on their european website (#C62157) that Beretta USA can't find here. How ridiculous is that ! My buddie's A400 came with the manual when he bought his 2 years ago
So Disappointed
1 year agoI bought this gun for my wife, which is her first shotgun for ducks. She really like the way it fit. Purchased and took to the range, which I have heard trap loads dont cycle very well. I was aware of this and yes had a few time not cycle. then onto the duck season, SAME Issues, would not cycle, then became every shot. Tried different loads and manufactures, SAME, Contacted Manufacture, said send in and get it back 6 weeks.... 6 MONTHS later after many calls, finally got gun back,, First outting, SAME thing! WAS NOT FIXED. Sent back and several calls and 3 more months, Calling more, and Finally was offered a full refund! No brainer, TOOK It and purchased a Black Eagle 3 and have not ONE issue, trap or duck and goose loads, Functions Flawlessly

1 year agoI have always wanted a beretta top tier shotgun. Ever since the 391 Urika. Finally got the A400 and I'm not going to lie, just a little disappointed. You can tell it is a well made gun and the cycling is great as well as the recoil. My biggest complaint is the weight as compared to the competition. It may be because I am more of a turkey hunter than waterfowl but like I said I always wanted to get one so I finally did. I love that it's a 3.5 inch but being a turkey hunter I prefer using my ol' faithful franchi Affinity as it is much more comfortable when the Tom's make their slow strut in. The weight is just enough more to make a big difference for me. The A400 is a great gun but if at this price I should not have to think twice about what gun I want to take out in the morning and unfortunately I will. I can't wait to use it on some geese.

1 year agoI HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND I HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL HUNTS WITH IT. ALL I CAN SAY IS THIS IS THE BEST SHOTGUN IN THE MARKET. FULL OF FEATURES WITH IMPRESSIVE GAS-RECOIL SYSTEM THAT WILL CYCLE ANY LOAD INCLUDING THE 3" AND 3 1/5" LOADS LIKE A DOVE LOADS. ITS MY THIRD BERETTA AND IT won't BE MY LAST! TEN THUMPS UP!!!!

1 year agoIt shoots straight for me (5'11"). Took it to the range and I was busting clays nearly as good as my dedicated sporting clays over and under without any adjustments. It also certainly seems like it should last nearly forever. Plus it's relatively easy (compared to older autos) to clean.

1 year agoI am an avid shotgun shooter. I have many guns for shooting waterfowl and clays. I have a sbe 3 and compared to it, this gun represents itself real well. Would definitely recommend this gun. Comes with 5 chokes and a nice case.

1 year agoOutstanding weapon! I have known 2 others with this gun and it is a primary reason I purchased. It is a complete kit with tools and chokes to meet any skeet or hunting need

1 year agoThe new kick off SYSTEM in this a400 is the BEST thing evere. Shot hi brass PHEASANT loads all day two days in a row. CouldN’t tell that i had been shooting. Functions low brass target loads flawlessly too. Another great beretta shotgun

1 year agoGreat shooting gun with minimal recoil for a 12 gauge. Have only taken it to the sporting clays range so far, but ran a few 3" magnum turkey shells through it and the recoil seemed to be about the same as a heavy 2 3/4" shell in other 12 gauges I have shot.

1 year agoFive stars after finding out that you can't have ANY oil in the gas piston. Even then, it shot everything but the lightest target loads. After drying things out it feeds everything although on a couple of occasions the bolt failed to lock back after last round; only with the "super light" target loads. The shotgun replaces a 30+ year old BPS after I misplaced a few parts for it. (good excuse I know)

1 year agoBest shotgun I’ve ever shot in my life. Never have had a malfunction. It’s definitely worth the money. The recoil is insanely light. Great looking too!
