2 years agoFirst impression was very well made, I was still sceptic. Took it to the range today and ran flawless 50 rounds of 9 pellet. Not that bad of recoil and I like the light weight. Took it apart and tolerance fit reflects precision machining. Like my old Remington? Got one full and two IM chokes? Don’t pass up a good deal, and you will be pleased at this price point.

1 year agoAwesome shotgun. For the cost I was expecting a flimsily made POS. Was pleasantly suprised when I took it out for the first time. Now I'm thinking about buying a couple more before the price goes up. Get one while you can!!!

1 year agoReally happy with the fit and finish. I've actually got three Turkish manufactured shotguns and they are all reliable and well made. Very happy that I spent the extra to get the hardwood furniture; it just feels more substantial. With the front bead it points and shoots nice. Haven't tried any light loads, but it cycles the el cheapo S&B 9-pellet buckshot I stocked up on years ago so that's good enough for me. Bought it to keep in the truck but I think it might be a little too nice for

1 year agoOnly about 60 rds in but so far this shotgun has been a pleasant surprise. After the break-in 25 or so rounds of full power ammunition, it pretty much cycles everything short of light birdshot loads. The fit and finish of the wood and coated parts have also been better than expected. I'm just really hoping nothing breaks (knock on wood stock).

1 year agoI'm not certain if I purchased my SMAX through PSA or not (hope so or I spent too much), but don't let the price fool you. Between this and the Black Aces Pro Series S 10" shorty, I find this Turkish-made shotguns to be extremely reliable. Between the two, I have fired round 700ish loads of primarily reloads (Lyman Devastator slugs and 8 pellet 00 loads, circa 1400 fps) but some factory shells as well. Not a single hickup between the two. I also take down my firearms and clean

1 year agoPut mix of over 200 rounds so far. High brass, slug and birdshot. Ran flawlessly. Much better shotgun than my mossberg semi automatic tactical. Could have bought 3 of these for what I paid for that one

1 year agoSo far so great; very fun to shoot, lightweight and reliable. Broke it in with 20 rounds of heavier ammo and then moved to birdshot. Cycled flawlessly. Only negative thing is that the screw for the stock started to loosen after the heavy rounds, but I expected that as they were the first rounds fired and it is a wood stock, and after tightening it there were no further problems. Great value for the price!

1 year agoGreat shotgun! Great value! This shotgun eats everything from birdshot to slugs and runs like a champ. No issues whatsoever. The walnut is beautiful. You will love this shotgun.

1 year agoLow priced well made Turkish guns are taking over the American market. Is there something sinister here? This S-Max is one of the best of the lot.

1 year agoThe color was not what I was expecting but that's my only complaint. It looks like someone started to stain it black then wiped most of the stain off. I will install the bird's-head stock sometime in the future.

1 year agoNo failures to feed or fire. Takes some getting used to. Your shoulder will hurt, 50 shells in we were trading off on who had to shoot it. 5/5

1 year agoFor the price of this semi-auto 12 gauge, you just can't beat it. Great for home defense and target/skeet shooting. I put a red dot on it and it's crazy accurate. If I had to have a complaint then it would be that it might need a recoil pad on the stock. 2¾" 00 buckshot will bruise you up after 5,6,7 shots lol but then again you wouldn't be shooting that many consecutively if you were hunting, and here in NJ you can't hunt with it because it holds 6+1 2¾" shells. Other then that I have no complaints. It's always cycled and never jammed up on me. What more can you ask for? Lol

1 year agoVery satisfied with the Black Aces Tactical Pro Series SMAX 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun. Although I have not shot the gun yet, I was very please with the time that it took for me to receive my purchase.

1 year agoThe fitment of wood handgrip was very poor. It leaves a noticeable gap between wood and allloy receiver. The black coating on the receiver had major issues as well. Looks like the coating had chemical damage. Obvious marks, looks like crap. Not uniform. Fit and finish was so bad I would like to return the firearm.

1 year agogot the shotgun last week, it's a pro series Smax and I'm extremely satisfied. when I first saw it I chose the dark walnut stocks. I went and got Federal 00buckshot,1185fps, I loaded it with one in chamber and 6 in the tube, and 125 rounds went thru it and it was flawless....All my friends and family went and got black aces pups, shortys and we all went to the range and had a blast. Thank you for the hunt group, and the black aces company,,,

1 year agoThis gun works very well. I haven’t fired it a lot, but I’ve had no issues with it so far. The stock is beautiful too. I haven’t used the pistol grip yet, but I have fired it just holding it with two hands like a pistol.

1 year agoActually a nice shotgun for the money. The stock is second to none. I only wished it could take magazines. But nice shotgun.

1 year agoOut of the box the front sight isnt straight. I haven't found the ammo this gun won't take. It's easy to take apart and maintain. I got a stunningly good wood grain on my brown Walnut version. The foregrip wood is very thin but strong when secured to the gun. Recoil is fine. Comes with multiple chokes. I've probably got over six hundred rounds through it. It won't fail unless you just don't ever clean it.

1 year agoMine weighs a smidge over 6 pounds. Its super light because of the thin aluminum receiver. It reminds me of a Franchi Law 12 from the 90s. Its hard to find a 18 inch barrel that has chokes let alone Beretta style Mobil chokes. Its light and transitions well. If you plug the tube magazine it would make great Grouse hunting gun in thick northern woods. I could see it being shot apart with extended heavy use sessions due to heat but I could be wrong. Did I mention it was light? A good candidate
