I bought the new Browning A5 Hunter due to California forcing us to hunt with steel shot. I was torn between the 3" & the 3.5 in. model. The salesperson asked me what most of my shooting consisted of. I told him that most of my shooting is with low base, 3 dram, target/game loads. He advised me to but the 3" gun stating it would cycle those lighter loads better than a 3.5 in. gun. I have shot hundreds of field loads through my Browning & I am yet to have the gun fail to cycle. The shotgun's fit & finish are very good, after all, it's a Browning. The center of the shot pattern is right where the front bead sight is pointing with all the different choke tubes. The operation & controls are perfect for me. The recoil of the shotgun is a bit more than I expected however. It isn't any harder than my 12 gauge over & under but if lighter recoil is something you want, buy a gas operated semi-auto shotgun. Over all, I am very pleased with my new Browning A5 Hunter. It is a good gun.

Clean and solid feeling as expected. Shipping time was long, and the extra day wait policy felt unnecessary considering us stuck behind enemy lines already have to wait 10 days. Besides that the shotgun is worth every penny! Love this thing.

Shot 3.5" 00 and it has a awesome pattern but does kick way to hard. I guess you wont feel it when shooting at a deer. I may only use it in hunting season where i have a few things on to help lower the recoil. Love it but i hope they work on that mule kick.
