1 year agoBrowning got it rite. Read the manual. When they say clean before use they mean it. Mine had a lot of thick oil in the receiver that needs to come out. Very nice shot gun.

1 year agoI’m very pleased with my new Browning Sweet 16 – 28” barrel. The overall finish and function of the gun is very nice. Realizing the gun is only 5 lbs. – 14 oz. the felt recoil was heavier than I expected; however, not uncomfortable. Read a few reviews concerning the overall length of the gun being too long but disagree as it’s very well balanced, points and swings easily. I do agree with reviews concerning the heavy trigger pull and mine definitely was too heavy, probably + 7 lbs range. Removed the trigger group and had a gunsmith decrease it to 4 lbs. – 3 oz. Overall a great gun and a nice addition to my 1964 Sweet Sixteen. Don’t hesitate adding this new A-5 to your collection!

1 year agoI've had dozens of hunting shotguns in my life and this one was a complete disappointment. The first gun I ordered came with the sight bead drilled in the wrong place! The second won't cycle ammo unless it's 1300fps or higher. It's currently on consignment at a local gun store..

1 year agoPurchased one of these guns recently and absolutely love it. But the first thing you have to do is read the manual! This gun will not cycle properly if it's not cleaned first due to heavy grease in the gun. Recoil is not bad which I'm use to a 12 gauge
A5 sweet sixteen shooter
1 year agoThis gun I haft to say is a pleasure to take to the field light weight easy to carry all day used it squirrel hunting several times in timbers and 200 rounds in trap and skeet range I cleaned my gun when I purchased it and it has not hic up once I’ve shot 5 factory steel loads 5 slugs and it eats it!!! 16 ga is very much growing on me I don’t regret this buy.

1 year agoRan 2 boxes of light loads at the skeet range. At first the gun would not cycle a new round till firing approximately 10 single rounds, but then did run in semi mode. Guessing springs were a little strong as this were lighter loads. Seems to be working Ok for now.

1 year agoI purchased a sweet 16 for upland hunting. Had a problem with it cycling shells. It even had problems with high brass. Tried to get a hold of browning, about as useful as fork with a sugar bowl. Anyway, took the gun apart, oiled the hell out of it. Made sure the barrel was seated really good. The gun has been cycling all shells through it now. Pleasure to carry and shoot when it works properly. I would suggest oiling it really good before shooting and making sure the barrel is seated properly. Apparently this is a common problem with the new A5.

1 year agoI purchased this gun for my wife last fall before pheasant season. She had issues with it on the sporting clays course and in the field. Recoil and problems cycling shells were the major issues but the overall quality of the gun just didn't correlate with the price.

1 year agoI’ve owned my A5 Sweet 16 for over a year and have shot dozens of pheasants with it. Mine has the 26-inch barrel and is lightweight, balanced, and handles like butter. Out of the box the action was a little stiff but after I oiled it and cycled several shells through it, the gun performed flawlessly. Best shotgun I’ve ever owned!

1 year agoi purchased this 26" A5 sweet sixteen at cabela's in Mitchell SD a few years ago. i have had a Remington 1100, Browning BPS's, Benelli SBE II's and Montefeltro's and loved them. I enjoy carrying this A5 sweet sixteen more than any shotgun i have ever owned. It is light, hard hitting and it has never failed me in all types of October-December weather.

1 year agoI am 68 years old and have been hunting since I was 10 years old. I bought this gun new and have put several 1000 rounds through it. I clean this gun once every year when bird season closes and it never and I mean neaver misfires!!! It is worth every penny. Read the manual. If the gun is new break it down, clean, reassemble and then use a good gun oil to oil your gun. If you hold the gun correctly as with any gun the kick is not bad at all.
