Speaking of fast and features, the highlight of the Grade I BL-22 is the short 33 degree lever throw that makes cycling faster for adults and easier for younger shooters. The easy to load tubular magazine holds any combination of 22 short, long and long rifle ammunition, all of which are on the menu for the BL-22. The magazine tube once loaded locks securely in place. The BL-22 features quality muzzle to butt that rivals other Browning firearms. From the machined steel receiver to the fit of the finely finished wood, these superb rifles are Browning’s through and through. Bring one along the next time you head into the field on a varmint hunt or just to roll a few tin cans. The BL-22 that sets the standard. Short lever throw. Walnut stock. Secure and fast magazine tube lock.

I like the rifle. It's finish is beautiful, and it is very light weight. What I don't like is the six and a half pound trigger pull. A spring kit should reduce it to around three pounds. I also don't like the rear sight. I'm seventy, and my eyes can't really adjust to using these sights. I was going to put a scope on it, but with its narrow mounting length, this is proving to be difficult. In the mean time, I am going to try a peep sight and see how that works. Overall, I like the rifle.

I have had one of these since 1974 they it is the best .22 I've ever owned, and that includes many. My son took it hasn't returned it in years, because he uses it so much. So I'm fixing to purchase one right now for myself again.

An extremely well made piece of craftsmanship. Fit and finish are outstanding. Even though the rifle is fairly small, it has a nice amount of heft to it. The primary reason I bought it is that the receiver is made of steel rather than aluminum and is blued, not painted. I cannot say how it shoots, since the ammo shortage has prevented any recent visits to the range. I would highly recommend this rifle on build quality alone.

Bought the take-down semi-auto in the late '70s; was impressed with the quality, and wanted a lever gun now. LOVE how the receiver is blued steel, not paint over ?some kind? of metal. Fit and finish are flawless, and the short-throw of the lever is engineering magic. All pros, no cons; recommend without hesitation.

The gun is first class but the service was.... I emailed them asking how I would know when it arrived at my local dealer and I only got an unhelpful robotic reply. After waiting about 3 weeks I finally wrote and asked them to cancel the order. It turned out that it had been sitting at my local dealer for 12 days. They had sent it out right away but didn't let me know. The local dealer didn't contact me because Palmetto didn't give them my phone number. And by the way, the transfer fee was $65, not the $35 I saw someplace.
