Size Matters. The Browning 1911-380 combines two of John M. Browning’s most lasting innovations – the Model 1911 and the 380 ACP cartridge – into a modern, lightweight pistol. Unlike most of the modern “pocket pistols” that chamber the snappy 380 ACP cartridge, the 1911-380 is slightly larger to better manage recoil for improved control that makes follow-up shots faster and more accurate. The longer barrel increases bullet velocity for more downrange punch and improved accuracy. The grip is compact, yet is long and wide enough to allow the shooting hand full purchase for added shooting comfort. Restricted in California, Massachusetts and Maryland.

2 years agoGot it about a few months back and have had nothing but problems with it failure to feed (very often) Jams up! (1 or 2 times every couple of mags) mags are not the best and expensive. Its embarrassing to fire it around my buddy's for sure! Got two other way cheaper pistols at the same time... they work perfectly it's crazy

2 years agoSo I bought this In December 2019 and right out of the box after cleaning I was a bit worried a out its range performance. I had 2 stove pipes (user error), multiple failure to feed (hood jam), a few failure to fire (all ball rounds). I put about 200 rounds down range. Although very accurate it was still worrisome that I just spent 700.00 on a pistol that was poor quality. Wrong. I cleaned it really well and brought it back to the range and had 3 malfunctions out of a box of 50 ball rounds. Not too good but this time i came armed with information and it turned out to be true. These things are a tad picky when it comes to what rounds they like to fire and if that's a deal breaker then stray away. Mine just LOVES hallowpoint rounds and ran through a few hundred with ZERO issue, which is fine with me cause I carry hallow point for self defense rounds. My pistol does not however like ball round. I'll get hood jams and failures to go into battery. All-in-all I love this pistol a lot with it's accuracy and it's thin, easily concealable design I use it as my everyday carry. I have zero concerns that it will not cycle the hollow point rounds I carry made by Hornady if the time just so happens to come where I must defend my life. I spent a lot of money cycling multiple different types of hollow points to this thing including over a hundred Hornady hollow-point rounds, from American Gunner to Critical Defense and it shot them all with no issues. The reason I give this four stars out of five stars is due to the fact that it does get a little funky with certain ammo and will not cycle all ammunition with ease. For the person that was saying even on a bench rest it was all over the place, they either do not know how to shoot a pistol or there was something seriously wrong with their pistol from the manufacturer. This thing is most definitely very accurate and I carry it over my 45 and 38. If you plan to carry this as a self-defense weapon, buy several types of ammo and cycle all of it to see what it likes to eat and buy self defense ammo accordingly. Also quick tip, as for this weapon having a magazine disconnect safety which is a deal-breaker for many people. The weapon will still fire without a magazine in with a safety bypass by pushing in the magazine release. Overall, with plenty of range time and experimentation I trust my life with this weapon to perform as it needs to if the occasion arises.

2 years agoAfter shooting many other guns, this gun is one of the most accurate and best looking guns that I have used. Like many 1911s, as long as you maintain it and clean it, it is very reliable and pleasing to look at. If you're looking for a nice 1911 that uses 380 auto, this is the right gun for you!

2 years agoThis 380 is designed after a 1911 but is 85 percent in size, perfect for concealed carry. Plus its a Browning the inventor of the automatic pistol... The Medallion model is even nicer when paired with a beautiful Browning Holster, just plain sweet!

2 years agoI am a big fan of 1911's and this one did not disappoint. I have already put several boxes through it and love the small size and light weight. It is easy to handle and operates exactly like the full size ones but without the recoil.

2 years agoSuper handy 1911 for the price! Loved it for my concealed carry;-) I’d like to have another one w/ the black color;-)

1 year agoWith the right ammo it's a lot of fun. But the magazine spring extends out the side of the magazine and must be depressed with a finger to get the first round to load. Not immediately obvious and fought it for too long before figuring it out. I have a bunch of Wolf steel cased ammo that does not cycle well.

1 year agoI bought this handgun about three months ago. It is my concealed weapon and I enjoy caring it and shooting it for practice. It has mild recoil which is great for my new thumb joint but I still feel accurate when I shoot.

1 year agoIn the month that I have owned my Browning it has become my favorite of my collection. Well made and perfect for my hand. I previously shot a full size 1911 and found it too large and heavy. This firearm is just right for me.

1 year agoI bought this 380 because my daughter thought it was beautiful and I figured it would be a good gun for her to learn to shoot with. But it's so much fun it will be a regular to take to the range.

1 year agoOne of my favorite pistols. Fun to shoot, super accurate. Have thrown hundreds of rounds through it with many different types of ammo, only had a failure to feed one time on the second mag, none since. A bit pricey for what it is, and a couple of the parts should have been made of metal instead of plastic. Still a 5 star product to me, love it.

1 year agoJust went out back for my first firing. Went through 100 rounds of Federal American Eagle range ammo and 20 rounds of Hornady American Gunner. Performed flawlessly. As expected from Browning. Perfect size for me.

1 year agoI bought the Browning 1911 .380 Pro some time ago and have rung it through its ropes. It replaced my 1947 Mauser HSC which got retired to a display cabinet due to a lack of available parts. ABOUT ME I am an ex-athlete who is a light weight overall for my age and height. That means my hand size is smaller than most. I am ambidextrous, but favor rightie for pistol shooting. I am a southpaw with rifles. I am also ex-military experienced in 1911's. FIRST THOUGHTS I liked two things about this pistol. First, it is a 1911 format that in my military days I take a shine to. The second thing I liked about the pistol is the longer than typical barrel for a .380. In my hand it felt VERY comfortable and shooting it from the start was enjoyable. One thing I noticed right off the bat was that I found two things from the factory I wasn't fond of but could easily be changed. First is that it shot hard to the left. I alleviated that with my 1911 sight adjusting tool. No big deal. The second was that my trigger had a stick on every magazine. I always had a stray when it did. That was alleviated with some trigger work. The trigger pull I felt was perfect except for that sticky thing it had going on. It isn't a competition level pistol, but I did want trigger consistency. OVERALL It has proven to be a great shooting pistol and accurate as I want it for a home potection pistol. It has shot most rounds with no issues except Winchestor FMJ blunt nosed rounds. Once in a blue moon, they hang up, but they are only target practice rounds. My Hornady Critical Defense rounds are no problem for it. My HSC on the other hand didn't like ANY kind of hollow points! In the end, this pistol checks a LOT of boxes for what I wanted! It is expensive, but well worth the expense in the end run. Browning makes a quality product!

1 year agoI Bought this gun on 7/23/22 and I do love this gun . Feels great in my hand.and easy to cc. If you like 1911's you will love this gun....Now why I gave it four stars... For me the price for this gun was a lot,but I splurged and bought it. took it home and broke it down to clean it found that Browning used a plastic guide rod not cool. Later after shooting a few boxes I discovered the rear site could be moved side to side with my finger which I fixed. I was cleaning my gun and discovered The front sight has the a piece broken off ...THE front sight is made of plastic.. The slide seems a little lose not as tight as my cheaper RIA Armscor .....and for the money you would think you would get 2 clips ... This is the first Browning I have ever bought... I was expecting a little more quality from Browning
