2 years agoIf you actually want to shoot something, don’t buy these, they miss fire 8/10 times. I would give it a zero star rating if I could

2 years agoNot a single failed primer strike so far. Also very accurate; it stays in target up to the 75 yards that we have fired it at so far. Going to by another two boxes today.

2 years agoEvery second one is bad. Not happy at all. If Cabela’s keep selling bad ammo, I will stop buying from them.
Still Looking
2 years agoI am looking for ammo that will give me consistent results out of my target pistol. The "target" ammo I am using has proven to be more erratic than I am - and I'm bad! Anyhow, I picked up a 400-round box of "Browning BPR Performance Rimfire Ammo - LRN Blackened" and a couple of other brands to test in the pistol. One would not cycle the semi-auto, and one was OK but nothing to write home about. But the Browning was great! I saw an improvement right away, in both slow fire and rapid fire. I think I fired about 25-30 rounds, and I am not sure if I had any that failed to fire. Tried it in a match tonight, and had an FTF in slow-fire. No big deal, but a bit concerning. Shot my second best slow fire target this year. Timed fire went great, shot my best timed fire target this year. But then I had a second FTF in rapid fire - and it cost me points! Both had good, solid strikes from the firing pin. The fact that I still got my highest score so far is a testament to the consistent accuracy of this ammo. But 2 FTF's in a 30-round match leaves me unable to trust Browning BPR when it counts. This will be great for plinking and practice, though, so I'll give it a 3 out of 5.

2 years agoIf you can get it on sale it’s not a bad purchase, but for every 20 rounds you’ll find a dud or a malfunction. It’s also very dirty ammo considering it’s rimfire already.
Smith 41
2 years agoProbably the worst crap I’ve ever had the misfortune to buy! Had at least four duds in the first 40 rounds, multiple failures to feed or eject. If someone tries to give you some, run away!

2 years agoJams constantly in my 10/22. Took the gun apart and cleaned and tried again still garbage. Henry Frontier hated it too. Wouldn’t recommend.

1 year agoI bought this bulk pack of 36gr HP for my Ruger 10/22. They will not cycle in the gun, they all jam up when hand feeding, slow or fast/hard they all jam up. Looking at them they seem to slightly longer then most 22lr and fatter at the tip. I've ended up using some on a bolt action rifle to see the accuracy and they are disappointing. Multiple 10 shot groops and 4/10 are strays. The shots that are consistent do an average grouping of over 1 inch at 50yrd. When you add in the stray shots its roughly 3 inch groups. I've very disappointed with Browning on this ammunition.
Kms1
1 year agoEasily the poorest performing 22lr I've had in over 30 years. Nothing likes it but bolt guns and then it's about 1 in 5 or 6 that fire. I'll never purchase again regardless of price.
Funflyer
1 year agoWorst ammo I've ever used. Couldn't run one complete mag through my 10/22, M&P Compact or my Beretta Bobcat without several FTF, FTE or dud rounds. Even a friends Ruger MKII had the same issues. I read other bad comments on this ammo but thought I'd see for myself. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Aggravated.
1 year agoTried this ammo in my Browning 1911-22. Experienced numerous failures to eject as well as failure to fire on a few occasions. Tried in both S&W and Colt revolvers where the cases were difficult to eject from the cylinder.

1 year agoSeems to not play nice in autoloaders. Fine in the revolver, but can’t get through a magazine in the semi-auto rifle without FTE/FTFs (more FTE). Counter-intuitive results as you’d think the high velocity round (1435 FPS) would sufficiently cycle the bolt....Went to Win Super-X for a hyper velocity round and have no problems.

1 year agoThis stuff is garbage 200 rounds in my gsg16 that was cleaned and lubed and my eggs firefly and had more ftf and jams and stove pipes than ever it was crazy couldn’t even make it thought a full mag and on my firefly I kept getting stuck casing in the chamber never happens with Winchester sure a few hams her and there but this stuff is the worst
RoadWarrior
1 year agoI bout 200 rounds of the Browning BPR and 200 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag. I fired them all through my S&W M&P 22 Compact which has about 2,000 rounds through it. Subjectively, the BPR felt like a more powerful round based on report and recoil. It also seemed to cause a greater destructive reaction on the 12oz club soda cans I was shooting at about 20 feet. However, I experienced 18 failures to fire out of the 200 rounds. The 200 CCI rounds, while seeming a bit less powerful, fired without

1 year agoBought a GSG Firefly and a bulk box of this ammo. Mis-fire almost every time through two mags. Lightly oiled ten rounds like owners manual suggested and had better results. CCI mini-mag fmj ammo nearly flawless out of 100 rnds.(no oiling!) Going to buy a Marlin mod.60 rifle for plinking. Hope the rifle takes them better.
dude just dude
1 year agoGot two 100rnd packs of this ammo a couple months ago. Shoots ok out of a RPR 22. What I did notice just a couple days ago while loading some mags is that most of the bullets are actually LOOSE on the shell casing, meaning they will spin, rock from side to side and are just not tight on the brass case like some other ammo of mine is, CCI, Aguila, Norma. This may cause inconsistent velocities noted on the report of the rifle. I took some and twisted the bullet while pushing slightly and
Rasta G
1 year agoThis ammo is ridiculously accurate out of my Rough Rider, Though out of 100 there are about 5-8 that defiantly do not have the same punch as the rest. Even the Browning bulk is accurate but has the same powder problem. It is a little on the expensive side.

1 year agoOne hole groups at 25 yards with the 40 grain using a Browning A Bolt. Also one hole groups with a Russian made Winchester.

1 year agoFollow-up Went to the range again. Shot 100 rounds of Mini Mags & 100 rounds of BPR's in 5 shot groupings. I like this round a lot. As I said before my rifle really likes the Mini Mags but I shot tighter groups with this & stringing groups together much more often. Even my fliers were close. Becoming my favorite round, I just need to get over my prejudices because I really like CCI's ammo. I definitely recommend shooting a box to test just make sure you sight it in properly, it does shoot high and flat.

1 year agoFired 450 rounds through my Ruger 10/22, had one FTE, but no other problems. The one FTE was probably due to a very dirty 10/22, I’d been shooting it most of the day. With the exception of the one FTE, the Browning ammo was accurate and judging from the report and recoil, a very hot little round. Highly recommended if you can find it.
