Experience design. Browning has over 50 years of experience with bolt-action high-powered rifles. Todays X-Bolt rifle inherits the strongest, most note-worthy features of its predecessors. The X-Bolt White Gold model has a Monte Carlo stock. This feature is recognized as the comb steps sharply down toward the heel of the buttstock, allowing more contact between the recoil pad of the stock and the shooters shoulder. With this design, the recoil of the fired shell comes directly back or in-line with the stronger part of the inner shoulder, making the rifle more pleasant to shoot, especially when a long day at the range is expected. It is okay for some guns to be referred to as beautiful even though it is still a hard working hunting tool. The X-Bolt White Gold is beautifully adorned with a polished Stainless steel receiver that is drilled and tapped for scope mounts with Engravings both the front and rear. This rifle also has a polished Stainless steel barrel. Its stock is a gloss-finished, finely Checkered with a rosewood forend and grip cap. Polished stainless, gold engraving, gloss walnut & rosewood, Monte Carlo, detachable rotary magazine, short throw bolt, adjustable trigger, bolt-action – scope not included.

2 years agoI have used this gun for a year now, its a 270WSM, with my hand-loads it will shoot dime size groups constantly. Magazine works well, no jams or hang ups there. I believe many more elk will drop to this fine rifle.

2 years agoBought the 7mm 3 years ago. Not only one of the best looking gun's I have ever seen, but it also shoots tight grouping, and is deadly accurate with a good quality scope.

2 years agoI bought this last year in 30-06. Very light, handles great, perfect balance, very accurate. Shot a 1500 pound bull moose, 165 grain bullet, with a single shot.

2 years agoI purchased my Browning X-bolt white gold in 300 WSM from Cabela's approximately a month ago, and I am extremely impressed with the performance and aesthetics of the rifle. Browning really paid attention to every detail on this firearm. From the engraving on the receiver, to the perfectly polished stainless, to the choice flame walnut stock, this rifle really is a thing of beauty. After my first trip to the range, I had the rifle dialed in to shooting 1" groups at 100 yards with ease. The trigger feels great, and I don't see any need for upgrading the trigger in the future. The recoil pad is excellent, and I was able to shoot a couple boxes of Federal premium 300 WSM ammunition (180 grain trophy bonded tip bullets) without any soreness the next day. The plastic rotary magazine is durable, impervious to corrosion, the ammunition goes in and comes out with ease, and there are no sharp corners which collect lint if carried in your pocket. I topped the rifle with a Zeiss Conquest HD5 2-10 x 42mm scope, and couldn't be happier with the setup. The rifle is relatively light, it shoots well, the ergonomics are great, and it is a breeze to shoulder up and find the sweet spot for swift target acquisition. This rifle will be used for hunting whitetail deer, black bear, and moose, and for showing off to the boys at the deer camp. This certainly isn't your typical beater hunting rifle, but I have lots of other rifles which will be used when thrashing through the bush. Overall, if you want a great shooting rifle that is very attractive and offers great pride of ownership, the Browning X-bolt white gold is an excellent choice.

2 years agoBought this rifle in 300 WM November 11th 2015 online . Shot at a bear running at me 1 shot in the head . shoots 1" groups at 200 yds . This is the only rifle I will ever need polished stainless will not rust like the newer bead blasted stainless. Best looking rifle at camp no doubt ! The magazine is Polymer a lot tougher than plastic.

2 years agoThis is my second Browning rifle. The first Browning I purchased was in 2001 and had major ejection and feeding issues. I got very little help correcting the issues (from both my local dealer and browing). After that I stayed away from Browning until this fall. My wife really liked the look of this gun and it fit her really well so I got it for her to take whitetail deer and black bear this fall. So far I have been far more impressed with this gun as opposed to my first Browning. The feeding is good and ejection has no issues. The stock is beautiful, but I suspect is easy to damage due to the soft feel of the wood. The caliber is .308 win and it have been a lot of fun to shoot thus far. Looking forward to her making great memories with this rifle.

2 years agoI purchased this rifle about 3 years ago as my first ever rifle, and it is as deadly as it is gorgeous! Of course I matched the silver with a silver leupold vx-2 and rings. I purchased the rifle in a 270 WSM and it is an excellent rifle for all sorts of distances, with hardly any kick. Though the stock is soft and scuffs quite easily, it still keeps its good looks! And as a lady shooter this gun is light and feels great to shoulder.

2 years agoBought this nearly 2 years ago in 338 Win mag. Mounted a Vortex Crossfire 3-12x56 on it and boy does it perform. Sighted in the day after buying it and it's been dead on accurate since. My rifle preferred the Federal nosler partitions in 225 grain, drops animal quickly and efficiently. Everybody who has seen my gun always comments on the polished wood and how beautiful this gun is.

2 years agoI had the XB Gold Medallion in 270WSM. Deadly accurate and beautiful rifle. Maybe too beautiful... It didn't take me long to scuff-up the stock when out hunting. Breaks your heart to see the gorgeous wood get scuffed-up. This is more of a range/collector rifle than a workhorse IMO. The controls and magazine are the absolute best design of any bolt rifle, and the palm swell, monte carlo cheek rise and oval forend in the stock make it the most comfortable rifle I've ever held (I've owned or held most). The other versions of this rifle don't have the same style stock. However the 270WSM cartridge would hang-up if it was fed into the chamber too quickly. If the round was fed in slowly then there wasn't a problem. I ended up trading this rifle for a Benelli R1 in 3006 because of ammo costs, the feeding issue (WSM's are the problem), how much more abuse the R1 can take without showing it, and the stock on the XB would have been destroyed within 5 years with the way I abuse rifles.

1 year agoI bought this gun in a .300win , after one year of use the stock was completely scratched, the gun would jam over and over again. Totally unreliable. Sold the gun a year later and bought a sako 85 in the same caliber. Don’t make my mistake and don’t be cheap spend the money and buy quickly

1 year agoArrived to pick up the rifle I had purchased online and had to wait 30 minutes at the Gun counter for an "Outfitter" to free up. (There was only one handicapped guy in a wheel chair in front of me). Funny, there were 3 other Bass pro shop employees, "Shooting the breeze" two of them a Supervisor types as both had to re-check Vinny's paperwork. This has no releflection on Vinny. He was wonderful, but very frustrating about the other 2 employees who would not assist anyone even though BOTH, HAD TO CHECK Vinny's paperwork, and I asked them both, if they could assist and they said I had to wait, before I was allowed to take my rifle. I will hesitate to purchase any firearm in the future from Bass or Cabela's.

1 year agoeasily shoots 1 inch groups @100yds with cheap soft point and less than 1moa with tipped ammo. Does not have a painful kick like some 30 06 do, very fun gun to shoot because of that and the nice looks of the gun is a big plus.. definitely recommend.
