CCI understands the needs of hunters and has designed ammunition with the small game hunter in mind. Each bullet keeps meat spoilage or hide damage to a minimum. The Quiet22 Segmented HP load generates 75 percent less perceived noise than a standard velocity 22 Long Rifle round. However its Segmented HP bullet splits in three on impact with each section creating its own distinct wound channel to bring down small game fast.

1 year agoOut of three rifles one Remington custom, a Ruger American and a Ruger custom this round prints about one inch hole at 25 yards. Not accurate for anything more that 20 yards knowing that you will hit somewhere around point of aim wiithin an inch to inch and a half. Loads are very inconsistent in sound which means powder measure is off from round to round. The regular segmented are more accurate at 1050fps.

1 year agoJust as the review previous to mine, these just don't group at all. Out of a Ruger Precision Rimfire at 30 yards I was getting a 5 shot groups with a 1.5"-2" spread. Not acceptable to me when hunting squirrels. At 710fps they just don't seem to stabilize enough to be accurate but are quiet. If your looking for accurate and using a suppressor you're better off with CCI 0074 which is the segmented Subsonic. One ragged hole vs buckshot

1 year agoI couldn't hit a stationary basketball beyond 10 yards using my bolt action, wood stock, Ruger American 22-inch barrel and this QUIET ammunition. Switched to using my Marlin 39 TDS lever action 16.25 inch 'micro-groove' and grouping 10-shots consistently inside a quarter size hole at 33 yards. Benching off bags, AO -12 power scope on both rifles. No changes except for the ammo and 10-shot dime to nickle sized groups with same Ruger and same Marlin setups using CCI standard velocity 1070 fps 40 g... Read more

1 year agoI use this on ground squirrels under 50 yards. Its quiet, kills quickly and doesnt ricochet. It is not and should not be considered a match-grade cartridge. Its accuracy is good for small game at shorter ranges. It is safe for backyards and farm yards with proper backstops unlike the high velocity loadings which can ricochet into neighboring properties.
