2 years agoThis is fine hunting ammo in a bolt action, single shot, or lever-action .22. However, the photo on the front shows 22Plinkster shooting a S&W Victory semi-auto handgun. Stingers are hyper-velocity ammunition, which are too hot for semi-auto rifles and handguns and can damage them. It was misleading and irresponsible to put a picture of someone shooting a pistol on this ammo. But in a bolt action, single shot, or lever action it's great.

2 years agoMight be a good round but it will not cycle in a Walther P22. The only reason I bought a box was because the sales person said it would work. Well it dies not. I have 94 rounds left. 6 failures.

2 years agoI shoot this through most every 22LR I have. My pistols love it (dads old Unique, 1911-22, Ruger SR22, Ruger MarkIV), my 10/22 actually shoots it very well with a TacSol Barrel. My old bolt action shoots about 1.5” group at 100 yards. Good round for the kids in there single shots. Make a nice pop noise for them to get use to the louder sounds guns can make.

2 years agoI’ve been buying stingers from CCI for nearly 25 years and they have never failed me in any of my rifles. I’ve used them in bolt actions and single shots all the way to semi-automatic rifles and only once in a blue moon get a jam or misfire. They are extremely accurate out of a good rifle and are very practical for small game hunting.

1 year agoI had a jam every 2nd shot and a ton of ammo that would not fire. I easily lost half of my ammo to malfunctions in a new GSG 16. Maybe I got a bad batch but I am not willing to pay the price to try it again.

1 year agoI decided to try this ammo for ground squirrels because the regular lead ammo wounded more than I felt good about. I took my 10/22 to the range last night, and shot about 150 Stingers (The stangers are just 100 packs of the Stingers- same thing). First, they're a little louder than regular .22 ammo, which makes sense. The casing is a little longer to allow for the additional powder that allows these to shoot so fast, and the bullet is a little lighter. But at 50 yards, my 3 shot groups were all averaging less than 1", which I didn't expect! My Ruger may just really like this ammo, and results may vary, but providing these hollow points work as expected on ground squirrels, I have my new go-to ammo. Not great for the range, because it's a little too expensive for plinking, but if you're buying these for varmits, these are perfect! Quick note though- because of the longer casing, these won't work in match grade rifles- they'll damage your gun. Most 10/22s aren't match grade though, and I didn't have a single misfire- they fed smoothly through my 2 stock 10/22 magazines.

1 year agoI have always loved Stingers and so I double love them in the 100 pack. I also really love the Plinkster and its great to get some ammo that carries his moniker.

1 year ago100 Stangers at a fair price and way louder than standard velocity ammo,it’s what I use to break in a new gun and have never had any problems with it

1 year agoThis load has been a fave of mine for many years if not decades. hits hard and destroys targets, no malfunctions/no issues even on a few select "older" rifles with 25" long barrels. Again GaG had the best price and fast shipping.

1 year agoHaven't had a chance to shoot them yet. Trying to get something to work consistently in my Ruger LCP 22. Getting "light strikes". Tried mini-mag 40 & 36 gr, Fed 36gr, Winchester 40gr. etc. I save them and run them through my S.&W. M&P Compact 22, or my Walther PPK/S 22.

1 year agoI bought these out of hype and from watching .22plinkster. I'm confident they will work, but haven't used them yet in my M&P22. Get them while you can, when you can.

1 year agoI use this ammo in all of my 22 handguns, revolvers, and rifles, never had a missfire, they are very accurate and inexpensive,I have shot at least 5000.

1 year agoPurchased for my daughter’s Henry Mini Bolt 22. The ammo she was previously using was much too dirty and gunking up the bolt. The CCI Stangers fixed that issue, burning much cleaner.

1 year agoMy walther p22 didn’t like it. After about 300 rounds I had to send it back to walther for repair. The barrel became loose at the receiver. Too much pop. Everything thing else loves them with no problems.

1 year agoIn my opinion this is the best .22LR cartridge you can buy. There is never a problem with them and they have always been lethal with good shot placement.
Chris W
1 year agoExcellent speed, reliability and terminal performance on small game. I have been using stingers for 40+ years!
Bart B
1 year agoThey are the classic Stinger rounds that CCI is famous for. An honest 1600 FPS that pushes a 32 gr. Bullet. It’s not a .22WMR, but gives the .22LR a lot more punch.
DAVID K
1 year agoNo problems with failure to feed / fire / eject in my S&W M&P 22 compact. Accurate. Not smokey like some of the other ammo I have used.
Craig J
1 year agoThese CCI Stingers are running over 1600 fps which makes them great for hunting small game or varmints, but the expense makes them impractical for target practice.

1 year agoDidn't feed well in my Taurus Tx22 or Hammerli TacR1. The stanger(cci) is a longer bullet than the velocitor(cci) and VermontHE(Winchester) witch both runs great. I still have high hopes for the rounds so I'll look out for something that cycle them well. Hopefully this helps!
