This rifle definatley need to be shot alot in order to feel smoother. The plastic where you cook the shotgun need a better piece it feel weak...but never failed a shot. As a starter it's working good. I rate it a 4 cause I have a churhill that performs smoother. But at $180 the Charles daly is worth to have a cheaper shot gun. My churchhill was $240+
