1 year agoi got this mainly to satisfy my own curiosity after reading for years the polarized comments about these which either described them as junk or viable defensive revolvers. For something in this price-range, I really can't complain. And performance was actually excellent, besting some of my S&W's, which really impressed me. My prior experience with nitride led me to expect a more rust-resistant finish however, though the few rust spots that did finally make an appearance were following a … Read More

1 year agoI have the charter arms .44 special and I find this gun pleasing to shoot and easy to pocket carry . Charter arms firearms are built to do the job without needing to look pretty . I also have the off duty .38 special .

1 year agoI have one of the early Bulldogs that I purchased new in 1974 for $150.00. It has been my EDC since then. I love my little pocket cannon. It has been totally problem-free. The only drawback is the price of ammo. Some may consider the 5- shot capacity a drawback, but since I try not to get into gangland shootouts, I’m confident five well-placed sho...Read More Read more about review stating Trusty Companion

1 year agoI love this gun. This is the caliber (45 long colt) I was looking for in a carry gun. It’s not a show gun (guns that are so expensive that they are kept in safe) but a gun to be used and carried. I would definitely buy another charter arms. Next one in 45acp or 40s&w.

1 year agoLight weight powerhouse is easily concealed, I cary mine in my left hand boot. The 44 Special bullet (240 grain wadcutter or 185 grain hollow point) is effective with manageable recoil for fast follow up shots. While I have never shot anyone with it, it looks enormous when looking down the barrel. Proven to encourage the observer into being more r...Read More Read more about review stating Excellent Hideout

1 year agoI sold my former EDC (every day carry), a .357 mag as it weighed in at over two pounds, and opted for the Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 special, lightweight at only 23 ounces fully loaded. The iron sights on my former EDC were okay during daylight but not in low light where lasers shine, and that's what's now on my Bulldog. As with any new ...Read More Read more about review stating I sold my former EDC

1 year agoVery Reliable & easy to handle!!! The light weight of the Gun with or without the Bullets is easy to carry!!! I would recommend this as a everyday carry for me or anyone else who wants a lightweight Revolver with a hard punch!!!

1 year agoNothing fancy, just a solid, working, concealable handgun. The .44 special is agreat self defense round and the Bulldog handles perfectly. Not designed for +P but if I wanted more power I'd have gone for a .44 Magnum. The Bulldog gives me the big bore without the extreme muzzle blast and recoil.
