As the self-contained metallic cartridge was being developed and perfected, many firearms manufacturers and private gunsmiths were busy converting the cap and ball arms to metallic cartridge models, more commonly known as “conversions.” However, rather than convert the older percussion arms, the Remington factory began manufacturing their popular New Model Army revolvers as metallic cartridge guns. Cimarron has taken their 1858 models and improved these replicas for the modern shooter. The Cimarron New Model Army is reproduced from an original new model army from the Cimarron collection. Cimarron’s replica Remington New Model Army or Navy looks and handles like the real deal!

Does the Cylnder have to be removed every time its reloaded? or does it have a latch that opens for reloading

This 1858 reproduction, manufactured by Uberti and imported by Cimarron, is a quality, accurate firearm. Off hand, at 21', hits grouping within a standard size playing card are the norm. The .45 Colt rounds are tamed by the pistol's weight and barrel length. I would recommend this six gun.Photo: http://500px.com/photo/59178744Photo: http://500px.com/photo/58971028More firearm photos: www.nemo7676.500px.com/firearmsTo answer another's question, no, the cylinder does not have to be removed for reloading. It loads as curent day revolvers. For cleaning, the cylinder is easy to remove.

Love this gun. Very accurate. Fun to shoot, load and unload. A very neat piece of history filling a nitche when pistols were going from percussion to cartridges. Such a nice light smooth trigger after dealing with the self defense semi-autos. For the second time I got good fast service from Grab-a-Gun.

I like the feel of how it shoots. But both the lever stud and front sight came loose and fell off. I would expect more from Cimarron's value-add to this Uberti revolver.

First appearance seems very nice. Blueing was even and very finely applied. From what I read in the owners manual of this blueing process it must be cared for religiously to keep it looking good. No visible machine marks that I could see. I haven’t fired it yet but am going to the range this weekend to run some of my 45 Colt hand loads thru it. So far I think it’s a winner but we will see.

Nice looking gun it feels nice in the hand. Put together will. I like the firing pin. Not like others , it's a beautiful fit for me. I wish I bought two so I don't have to share. Fun...

I also have the 1875 Army in stainless steel. They are very nice reproductions pistols and are very well made.

Beautiful piece! Very nice and I can see how back in the day they would think this was about as good as it gets at the time!

Nice gun, doesn’t kick much, but a little of a pain to load due to having to disconnect lower arm and not having a spring on cartridge removal lever

It’s my favorite 45c gun that I own. I only have one. It’s a stupendous shooter, very soft, tried fiocci HSM another HSM and S&B - all shot flawlessly and with the HSM it’s dead on bullseye at 10. But not to worry cause the front is a drift sigh - historically incorrect but gives you adjustment options. With the 8” cannon this thing can hit at 75 yards - I’ve done it 7 in 10 shots. So overall really happy with it!
