Colt Combat Commander 45 ACP 8+1 Round Semi Auto Hammer Fired Pistol, Blue – O4940XE

Other than swapping the stock sights for some Trijicon Night sights, it's been awesome. I'm a Law Enforcement Officer and I appreciate the added weight of a all steel firearm. It's the perfect size for concealed carry, plus I prefer the .45ACP to the 9mm anyday.

Obviously, being Colt, it is a high quality product. I have always loved Colt, probably always will. The only draw back I would have is the slide lock. With the mag in place, you can't release it with one thumb....definately takes 2. Could be a break in thing, not for sure.

As much as I hate to admit it, there is no substitute to a genuine Colt 1911. I had a few failures to feed in the first 50 rounds but after a good cleaning she has fired everything I have fed her (Winchester 230 grain FMJ and HP, Gold dot short barrel and regular 230 grain) with no problems. every mag I have works even the cheap one they sent with it, I didn’t have to polish or tune anything. just understand gentlemen that you are not paying for a showpiece this is something that you carry and depend on when it goes sideways.

By faR, one of the best colt 1911 i’ve own in a long time. It Comes with an awesome recoIl spring That makes the gun feel like almost no kick at all when you’re shooting it. And very accurate and reliable.

What can I say it is a Colt, fit and finish was great! I was a little uneasy given the troubles Colt has been having the past few years BUT I was truly impressed when I picked this up. I've been looking for one of these since Dec 2019, worth the wait.

A Great 1911. Concealable and it shoots like a dream. As a former USMC Infantry Officer, I would highly this weapon!!

Not enough accolades to describe it. Beautiful as well as quality craftsmanship. Cycling, feed and extraction is flawless. One inch or less groups at 7 and 10 yards. Have the Defender as well. Have several Colt handguns, One going back to the 60's. Never one problem with functioning with any of them. The Commander can command the situation.

Always preferred the slim profile and ergos of 1911 platform. Commander length makes for easier carry option. Colt has been in the game for a long time and as USMC veteran, the brand has never let me down. This is not a boutique firearm but rather a solid tool that will get the job done.

Arrived swiftly to FFL. The combat commander is rare in our area. So when it arrived at the FFL, it attar ted a lot of attention. Looks great. The grips really feel and look fantastic.

Ordering, shipping and tracking were very easy. The Colt functions flawlessly and smoothly. One of the included magazines was unable to keep the slide open after the last shot. I would recommend the Colt Combat Commander to anyone wanting a well balanced carry pistol

Excellent 1911A!! Good for Concealed Carry, but still a little heavy. This accommodates an 8 round mag, which is a plus. Definitely recommend to anyone who wishes to own a high quality 1911A handgun. Worth the price..
