The Colt Defender pistol is a carry-ready 1911 in a compact size. The lightweight aluminum frame is finished in a matte stainless steel finish, topped with a forged stainless steel slide for a pistol that looks as good as it conceals. Tactile G10 grips and upswept beavertail grip safety make this small pistol very comfortable to shoot.

1 year agoWOW!!! my go to EDC in all-weather! it is so light and easy to carry even in My shorts in the summer. I used to carry a Rock Island 3.5 officers 1911. like the name say it felt like a ROCK!!! but this colt with aluminum frame makes a BIG difference, sometimes I have to check to make Shur it still there! as fare as shotting the first 200 was mixed FMJ HP and from 185 grn to 230 grn ,she took them all with not one I say again NOT ONE stove pipe. the next range session was 500 rounds of mixed reloa... 1 year agoThe general consensus with 3" 1911's is that they can be finicky except for the Colt Defender which just goes bang every time. Now I agree with the part about the Colt Defender, but don't agree with the rest! I carried a Para Elite Carry (another 3" 1911) for years and it was as very reliable for me. The Colt Defender is no joke in terms of being something you can rely on when you need it. I own 7 1911's and, as a result, shoot a ton of .45 ACP, so I'm used to the round. That being … Read More

1 year agoI needed a conceal pistol in a .45 cal. Had looked at Sig 320 nitro and Glock g30sf. Both very good for what I needed. The reason I chose the Colt was the size. The 3 in barrel allows me to carry with ease and without printing. The single stack allows for a thin grip. I opted for a wider Hogue grip that fits perfect. After 1500 rounds this gun does not disappoint. Easy target acquisition with Novak sights make it a pleasure to fire and confidence to carry. The people at Grab A Gun made this buy easy as well.

1 year agoI purchased the Defender as a carry gun. It's a comfortable fit for my hand, light, and very accurate. It replaces a Colt Wiley Clapp Commander LW.

1 year agoHighly recommend this handgun. It’s made top quality, and looks great! It’s almost an identical clone to the Springfield Armory Micro Compact with a few minor variations. It honestly comes down to which one feels better in your hand. The Springfield is smoother, but the Colt is just as good. The only thing that matters is how well they shoot, and ...Read More Read more about review stating ????

1 year agofit and finish are second to none as expected from colt and the price $$$. only reason no 5 stars, takedown is easy but reassembly shouldn't be as hard as it is. if you aren't patient you can easily scratch the finish. they should do some research and fix the slide stop with a divet so it slides on easily and not a squared surface trying to push a pin in. otherwise love this great shooting carry colt. highly recommended
