The standard heavy-barreled version of the 457, the Varmint has a 0.866 inches cylindrical barrel. Not only does the heavy barrel make for good harmonics, it also allows the Varmint to perform well with a wide variety of rimfire loads, translating into an accurate platform for shooting targets or getting game. The Turkish walnut stock has an American-style comb for use with a scope and a wide, flat forend that rides a sandbag well. Laser-cut stippling gives grip fore and aft. If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety – something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy 2-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 deg bolt rotation in favour of 60 deg, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is without a doubt the best rimfire platform we’ve ever fielded.

1 year agoFit and finish is great. The shorter bolt throw is a great improvement in the 457. Great price as always from GrabAGun and quick shipping .

1 year agoHave had lots of fun shooting my CZ 455 Varmint so I wanted to try the 457 Varmint out. Not disapointed with it and would reccomend it if you are looking for another CZ.

1 year agoI purchased mine a couple of weeks back from GrabAgun - good price & quick shipping as usual. After adjusting the trigger and mounting a vortex scope this rifle shoots very well. The 60 degree bolt allows a lower mounting of the scope and the adjustable trigger is a sweet feature.

1 year agoVery accuratE, trigger needed work the lowest I could go was 3 lbs had to change a spring to get 1 lb. Do not care for the checkering it is more like sand paper. Still a very well made rifle.

1 year agoMounted the area 419 rail and optic grabbed a box of blazer standard velocity and was shooting pretty consistent 1 inch groups right out of the box. Can't wait till it cools down outside so I can run some different kinds of ammo thru it!

1 year agoEasily the best feeling .22lr I’ve ever felt. I have JM Marlin model 39s that shoot and feel good but nothing like this! The only bolt action .22lr bar none.

1 year agoI've bought four of them in five months. Two Scouts, one LUX and now a Synthetic. All in .22lr You won't find a better quality or more accurate rifle for the money.

1 year agoI have 5 CZ 457s. For the money, they are the most accurate and reliable firearms . They are built like the Rock of Gibraltar and can be handed down from generation to generation; they are that good

1 year agoI’ve only used the website once, but the gun was promptly delivered. I’ve also only shot the gun at one tournament so far. It took just the first target to get in line and then it was off to the races! I hope I’m not getting ahead of myself, but really looking forward to shooting in the tournament tomorrow.

1 year agoThe body color is nothing like on the website and the barrel is not stable. It moves around and detached to the body.

1 year agoBeautiful looking rifle. Nice fit and finish. Have not shot it yet so can’t comment on that. Bolt is a little stiff so hopefully it’ll move more smoothly after some use.
