Designed in the European style, the Lux has a hogback stock fashioned from turkish walnut. With a cheekpiece and comb ideal for use with its crisp iron sights, this 457 is one classy plinker. Like all 457s, it has an 11mm dovetail for mounting optics and can be quickly and easily swapped to a different chambering with the addition of a second barrel set (sold in our webstore). (1) 5 round magazine is included. If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety – something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy 2-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 degree bolt rotation in favor of 60 degree, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is without a doubt the best rimfire platform we’ve ever fielded.

I paid extra for the 457 Lux to get the Turkish Walnut stock versus stained hardwood on the Training model. I've owned a number of long guns and shotguns in walnut and know that straight graining is part of it's beauty and to be expected. When I took the gun out of box, loose splotchy laminate look graining on the stock's right hand side jumped out at me. Big disappointment.. Then I attempted to put the bolt in place and it would not go in. After much thinking and research (took hours) I … Read More

I own a handful of rim fires, and the CZ line is my favorite. They tend to cost a little more, but the quality is worth it. This rifle is probably 5 stars, but I can't help but compare it to my CZ 455 Lux. Should you wish to hear my comparative opinion... I love the new trigger, the wood is just as beautiful, and I like the new rubber butt stock because it sits in my shoulder better without slipping. The new barrel is a couple inches longer, which is great since I prefer this model without … Read More

An excellent, well-made, heirloom quality firearm at a price that’s quite reasonable given its build quality. Light trigger, great stock cheek rest, works with CZ 455 mags, and a lot of fun to shoot. Only negatives (I’m being picky) are that the iron sights aren’t my favorite (as i prefer a peep sight closer to my eye) and the stain is a darker shade than our CZ 455. One odd thing about the rifle is the recoil pad. It’s the same as my CZ 527 which shoots .223 and what makes the CZ 457’s … Read More

My son loves it. We ordered it for him, because he has begun training for 4H smallbore rifle competition. He is 9, and while it is a relatively large rifle for a .22, it is still comfortable for him to shoot from prone, kneeling, and bench. It is heavy but usable for standing. The rifle is beautiful, with nice wood. Action is smooth, and safety is easy and intuitive to use.

Well-made light and accurate. Sights were accurate out of the box, with military style ladder sight allowing steel to be hit @ 100yds with Rem Thunderbolt Ammo. The wood grain is excellent as is attention to details. Havent found a second magazine for sale yet though.
