Produced only in small numbers in recent years, a resurgence in demand means we brought the bobbed Commander back into regular production. One of the few California-legal models in our 1911 line, it has a loyal and growing following in the Golden State. With stainless steel slide and frame, its flats are brushed and rounds are bead blasted. With snag-free Tritium sights and a bobbed mainspring housing, it is an excellent candidate for concealed carry.
Features:
- Bobbed mainspring housing – the bobbed mainspring housing may be non-traditional, but many prefer its feel in the hand as well as the reduced frame size that results in less printing while carrying concealed
- Fixed night sight – a Novak-style snag-free sight with tritium self-illuminated vials
- Frontstrap 25 LPI checkering – sharp, 25 LPI checkering, giving plenty of grip without being too aggressive
- Long K-style trigger – the long K-style trigger is a twist on the standard three hole trigger that looks like a ‘K’
- Night sight – Novak-style and snag-free, these three-dot night sights have tritium vials that are always illuminated
- Smooth mainspring housing – the absence of checkering allows for a snag-free carry experience
- Tactical hammer – the skeletonized hammer helps to reduce weight and maintains the clean look of the pistol
- Traditional cut – the traditional cut keeps the lines of the traditional 1911 slide with a dustcover swoop

1 year agoI got her for the fraction of the price this gun is sold in California. Including transfer fee, DROS and tax, it is still cheaper then the bare price locally. First, on the phone, rep told me it will be shipped within 5-7 days, then next morning I received email that my gun was shipped.Shipping was at lightning speed-they mention it will be shipped 2nd Day Air, but gun came in next day. As for quality-I still have to wait for 10 days to gun to be released to me, but it is Dan Wesson, so no surprises are expected.

1 year agoVery nice pistol. Very well built. I have put several hundred rounds through it already. It carrys well with the bob tail. Highly recommend. I also have a RIA which I love but the two don't even compare. The customer service I received was excellent as well. Thanks

1 year agoI had read about Dan Wesson’s reputation and this gun has so far been as expected: tight, accurate and flawless. If there were anything I would prefer to be different would be the rear sight: I prefer a sight with a ledge for racking one handed and I don’t like white outlines on rear night sights (when there is light no one needs the rear dots and when it’s dark they glow). I used a sharpie to black out the white circles on the rear sights, but they are set so well from the factory that I have … Read More
