2 years agoI would give it 5 stars, if not for the very heavy double action trigger. Single action is very nice. The double action has smoothed out a bit after a couple of hundred cycles with snap caps. Plus extra oiling of the action. The trigger is getting to the point where I can stage it at the single action position. This is my first revolver. I was impressed with the feel of the Sidekick in my hand.

2 years agoLike 9 rounds. Like the style, look and feel. Like the fit and finish. Like the size, weight and balance. Like it having both single and double action trigger. Like the single action trigger pull. Only thing I don't like is the extra heavy double action trigger pull - it takes way too much force especially for a 22cal.

1 year agoHas a nice Western Look to it. Like that it ejects all nine shell casings at once. When gets to much fouling all the cases don't get ejected, but easy to pull out. The best part is swing out cylinder like my Colt Python. Fun to shoot.

1 year agoGreat pistol for the price! I suggest cleaning it really well before using it. It actions better after that, and it did have a few machining burrs that were sharp. I removed with a small piece of high grit sandpaper. Shoots really well with both regular and magnums.

1 year agoThis is an awesome little revolver. Quite heavyweight and sturdy. Love it. Easy trigger pull, good feel in the hand. And runs well!!

1 year agoI have a Ruger Wrangler and a couple of Heritage revolvers but this one is my favorite. Nine-round capacity and the cylinder pops out to load instead of through a gate, much faster. Build quality was way better than Heritage and equal to Ruger. Smooth action and best of all it came with the .22 WMR cylinder that is easy to swap. Even went out and bought a matching belt/holster I liked it so much.

1 year agoWell over 500 rounds of various brands of 22LR. Only one (1) cheap ammo didn't fire. Checked the case, it was a good hit. It went off on the second hit. I'm really liking this 9 shot. Don't have any WMRs, so I haven't tried the other cylinder yet. I don't anticipate any problems with it. Diamondback did a great job with this gun.

1 year agoGreat gun. I love the versatility of shooting long rifle or magnums. I have about 100 rounds through it and it’s been great.

1 year agoGood quality, HKS speedloader 22-HR works on this pistol too. Have not tried 22 mag yet. Double action pull very heavy.

1 year agoHas good look and feel. Accurate to shoot. Shells stick a little in the cylinder when you try to eject shells. May have to do with it being new

1 year agoI am giving 5 stars only because this is a very well designed gun. The first thing to do is oil the trigger mechanism and cycle some rounds through to loosen up the double action. This gun has to be broken in. The double action will get lighter with usage. The single action is very easy. My gun was not accurate and was shooting about 12" too low. I filled 1/8" off the front sight. It is now right on target. At first the shell ejector was sticking. But with cleaning and usage, it is working great. This gun is now a pleasure to shoot. It was not like that though out of the box.

1 year agoI haven't gone to the range with the Sidekick yet... but super fast shipping and no hassles... exactly as advertised. I do like the feel of the gun.

1 year agoIt's well made and looks like it will be durable. The trigger in single action mode is lighter than any other revolver I've known. I put about 100 rounds through it first outing, not hard when it holds 9, and once I became comfortable with the fixed sights I'd say it's reasonably accurate..I could put most of the 9 rounds into the bottom of a soup...Read More Read more about review stating A great sidekick

1 year agoBought for varmints around our land and like the interchangeable cylinders. On draw back is the weight, a bit heavy!

1 year agoSend it back to diamondback for a couple issues. Incredibly hard double action trigger, could not eject spent shells without forcing the ejection rod, and bad accuracy. They replaced cylinders and trigger spring. Took 6 weeks. Nothing for accuracy. Returned for accuracy issues. 8 weeks later, after several inquiries, they offered a refund. I t...Read More Read more about review stating Not good

1 year agoLet me start out saying GUNS.COM is a great place to purchase a firearm. About the Diamond Back Sidekick. Fit and finish is very good. Appears to be very durable. 22lr and 22mag cylinders change easily. First time out issues. The 22lr and 22mag brass stick in cylinders. I had to pound them out. The double action trigger pull is near im...Read More Read more about review stating First time out!

1 year agoArrived in a timely manner. Simple packaging. The instruction manual provided online and information on the GUNS.com breakdown list this firearm as "safe to dry fire", but the manual I received has a large black sticker over that section (page 8), and stickers on the box stating "dry firing this firearm will void manufacturer's warranty". Not ...Read More Read more about review stating Instruction manual changes

1 year agoThe Diamondback Sidekick is a neat-lookin gun akin to the Wrangler Ruger which it resembles. However, if you were buying the Sidekick for its double action feature, you'd be disappointed, because after a coupla hundred revolutions of the cylinder, it's still very stiff. The smooth single action offsets this and point & shoot, it's pretty accur...Read More Read more about review stating The Diamondback Sidekick: A Mixed Review
