This stuff is awesome for three gun competition! Holds tight patterns PAST 25 yards. I highly recommend these loads to serious competitors. I only wish they made the flitecontrol wads as a stand alone product for the reloading crowd.

I tested a few buckshot patterns at 5, 15 and 25 ft. Federal was way ahead in keeping the pattern tight. I was impressed, and stop by periodically to pick up more. The shot is mostly for a 12 gauge for in home protection, and range firing for my wife & I. Try it, see if you agree.

This is the ammo I use for hunting as well as home defence. I use the 000 3" shells. the quality and performance is second to none.

This buckshot in # 4 patterns the best in my A-5 browning 30" full choke. I have killed lots of deer with it through the years and it puts them down. I have always had people tell me that #4 buckshot is too small to kill deer effectively but this #4 buckshot proves them wrong.

This is good stuff. Best patterns I get with 00 out of my 870 with 20" slug barrel and IC tube in place. Your mileage of course may vary but the potential is here thanks to the Flitecontrol wad and premium shot. Haven't tested it on anything but patterning boards but it will no doubt be very effective.

I use the old School version of this NO flitecontrol in 00 and 000. Excellent for anything you use buckshot for. Ive killed a many o game with it up to 75 yards with my 12 gauge 870 express magnum 26" barrel with a mod choke. Would recommend it for everyone.

I ran a couple shells through my 12ga Remington 11-87 at 40 yards. The stock Remington FULL choke gave me 51% (21 pellets) on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. The X-tra FULL turkey tube yielded 37% (15 pellets). I'll be using the FULL choke tube for coyotes this year.

I had the chance recently to punish my shoulder and put some lead down range, and switching between the ammunition I have purchased, I have to say , I notice the quality of the Federal Shot's. On top of that , anytime I see a promo for free shipping , you can count on me purchasing some ammo! As much as I love to visit Bass Pro Shops@ ArundelMills , anytime I can replace gas money with ammo ,I'm in! LOL Another Satisfied Customer!

I bought this along with Hornady Critical defense and Winchester military buckshot to test for home defense, this blew them all away by far. It was incredibly accurate out of my Remington 870, and only threw a 5" pattern at 30 feet (compared to 10" for Winchester). This ammo now sits on the shell holder in my home defense shotgun; I can't give it any higher praise than betting my life on it.

I "discovered" this load 10 years ago and won't use anything else. I have two Remington 870's with 18" barrels, and "Improved" Cylinder choke. I use them for when I was a armed guard, and now home defense. With conventional 00 (unplated shot and standard wadding), I found "the pattern" on a human silhouette target at 25 yards to be dangerously unacceptable. Not one pellet out of FIVE shots!!!!!! 45 pieces of shot and nothing connected on the torso...... But load with the plating and special wad, makes all the difference in the world, puts all 9 pellets in the upper torso, no problem. For hunting a medium constriction ticket aught to make 40-50 yards shots on game doable. This load is so hard to get because Police Dept around the world are buying and using this in their weapons to get effect. When it comes to buck, I use nothing else than the best... and it's worth every penny.....

I bought this to use in a short barreled 870 in the home defense role. I had patterned the gun with standard unplated 00 buckshot at 10-15 yards and found that I got a 20 inch pattern. After switching to Federal Premium, my 25 yard patterns were 5 inches across. Again, that is out of a 12 in barrel 870. I can't recommend it enough.

I was a #00 buck shot guy my whole life and a friend turned me on to these #4 buck a few years ago and I am hooked. These aren't the best for shooting through thick brush, but if you pick your shots right these #4's are much more effective than #00 buck. I have killed deer from 5 to about 100 yards with these #4's...what else do you need?

Wow.I compared these 00Buck to Federals Power Shok 3" 15 pellet 00 buck and 2.75" Power Shok 12 pellet 00 Buck at 40yds.The gun was a Benelli M2 with a Carlson mid-range Black Cloud choke. The flight control wad really works wonders. All 9 pellets were placed within a tight group with the farthest separation between any two only 13".Impressive for 40yds.Even though the other rounds have more pellets they only managed placing 3 or 4 pellets in a 20" circle.

We use these on fox and coyote when we go squalling from the ground blind , works great has a pattern that is a little tighter than others at 25 or 30 yards ,also seems that it also has a greater impact than other brands do .

Federal buck shot with Flight Control is death on white tail deer. Nice tight pattern, like shooting a rifle!!

Patterned these last night. They are tight. Looking forward to knocking down some deer with them this season.

I have access to a floodplain that's swimming in deer in a shot only area but our first couple of hunts had them stay just out of range so I bought this buckshot with the flitecontrol wad in the 3" for my 12 gauge Mossberg 500 hoping to gain some range. On our fourth day out, a group of deer walked towards our blind and when a good sized doe stepped away from the herd about 60 yards out I took aim for the head, let loose, and dropped her. It was a tighter pattern than I've ever seen at that range and had zero meat loss. 3/4 of the pellets hit her dead in the face and neck. I've got nothing but praise for this ammunition.

Bought these Federal Vital-Shok along with the Federal Power-Shok and the Remington Express Managed-Recoil all in 00 buck. All 3 where undersized with Federal being only 0 sized at 0.32 or less in size, 3.1 grams. I measured up the Remington and it fell somewhere in the middle at 0.325 at 3.3 grams. A true 00 Buck Pallet is 0.33" as advertised on both the Federal boxes and should weigh in at 3.6 grams

these rounds worked just fine out of my 1187 w/xfull buck kicker. they ran good through my gun , no problems. I got them at a good price, they arrived at my address in good time. but the main reason I got them was that my usual shells are next to impossible to find right now.
