1 year agoI bought this for my Tikka T3 X HB in 6.5 Creedmor , Federal Gold Medal Match best components and tolerances “ Nope “ . I had 6 rounds out of 20 that would not chamber and had one that the neck was split all the way to the bottom of the shoulder ! I am very lucky that is one that would not chamber it could have damaged the rifle and possibly injured me. I will be contacting Federal regarding this as I find it unacceptable performance and no quality control.

1 year agoI just thought I would call this out because I am super fun: This is the Cabela's description for this ammunition above: "Bullet dimensions designed to run well under SAAMI specifications for OAL." Contrast this with Federals description that is printed on the actual box of ammo: "Notice: This cartridge is loaded to a maximum overall length of 3.580 inches, which exceeds SAAMI standard and might not fit in all magazines" Now that I got that out of the way: this ammo is great and drops long bombs. and it feeds perfect out of my AICS CIP spec mags.

1 year agoMuzzle velocity variance ranged from 8-30 feet per Sec. 1/2 MOA all day in the right gun and with the right shooter. Right price these days for ammo.

1 year agoThe 185 gr Berger is one of the best bullets for truly long range shots. I bought these to start pushing through the transonic range where my 168 Sierra Matchkings get funky. It's a trade off. Depending on barrel twist and environmental factors, you sacrifice minor accuracy (I went from 1/2 MOA to just under 1 MOA) up close, but gain it exponentially at further distances. From now on, I'll be using these for every shot over 800.

1 year agoWorked great in new gun. 4 shots sited then 5th put down an 8pt where it stood. Brother used same ammo and got another 8pt few days later. Plenty of meat for winter.
