2 years agoGot better pattern from Winchester Longbeard 3.5" 12ga #5 than 3" #9 TSS and Longbeard is a lot less expensive.

2 years agoThey are expensive but they are great shells. If a turkey presents himself, with these shells you will take him home with you.

2 years agoBest ammo out there for long distance, my son rolled a bird down the hill at 60+ yards! Highly recommend!

2 years agoShoots great in my turkey gun great! It really extends the effective range of shotgun. Well worth it.

2 years agoPaid top dollar for this ammo and when it arrived the boxes were old, damaged, and the rounds had clearly been wet. Customer service refused to take a return or send me new. I would highly recommend not ordering this anytime soon, their stock seems to be junk. Cabelas customer service has gone downhill fast too. Bummer.

2 years agoWhile it is expensive, this is the hardest hitting best patterning turkey load out there! Beware they are not all that fun to pattern

1 year agoFor the 12g 3” number 7’s. Patterned at 50 yards. It is about the limit with my cremator lr choke tube. I’ve gotten two birds in 2 shots so far. One at 15 yards, one at 37. The bird at 15 was perfect, head only. The 37 yarder, crushed him but had pellets from his head to his thighs. The ballistics suggested they should have a deadly amount of penetration at 100 yards, considering you can get pellets on target. Pretty impressive considering steel bbs have the same penetration power to 76 yards.

1 year agoPatterns real well out of my mossberg. 20 hits in head and neck bone at a measured 40 yards. Shooting kicks choke. Patterned better than anything else.

1 year agoThe product itself is great. But the fact that you will not ship standard shotgun ammunition to many East Coast states is a terrible company policy.
The Truth on this one
1 year agoAbsolute death shot! Amazing combination. Largest number of shot to completely cover head and neck. Hits hard!

1 year agoNo comparison to lead in my Remington 870 20 gauge. Used Longbeard XR before. Both very effective at 40 yards but the difference of birds hit at same range is astounding! Used 9s and 7s to complete my single season grand slam this year. Overpriced? Probably. Worth it for performance? Absolutely! When you spend money on a trip of a lifetime don’t cut corners on shells. Eat peanut butter crackers if you have to. If you can hold it on target the TSS will outperform anything else. And I don’t shoot for distance. Dead is dead for sure but there is a huge difference in performance!

1 year agoThese are some of the best turkey loads made. With the flite-control wad and TSS these rounds will consistently kill birds at extended range.

1 year agoThese shells are a huge upgrade over standard turkey loads. The patterns at 40, 50, 60 yards are amazing. Penetration is phenomenal as well. I shot a Turkey with these at 80 yards and found 40 pellets under the off side skin of the bird. Great product

1 year agoLove the shell concretely constructed looks great patterns well ... HAVING SAID THAT,,, I think it’s to much money for a shot shell ...!!!!!

1 year agoYes, these shells are so expensive it makes you sick….BUT…..when that old pasture pimp hangs out in a field at about 60 yards, these shells are worth it. Here’s how I justify spending so much money on these things: Would I hand someone $12 to be able to shoot a big turkey I’ve been working for 4 hours, but now he’s hung up at 60 yards with hens. Oh well, the TSS puts the birds on the ground. My Remington 870 shoots these with unreal patterns out past 70 yards, but that’s just too

1 year agoIt was hard to find these shells as I didn't want to pay an enormous price, found them here at a good price compared to other vendors! Glad to get them ahead of fall turkey season!

1 year agoI bagged 6 sandhill cranes using Federal 20 gauge 3”1 5/8 oz #7/9 shot and Hevishot 20 gauge 3” 1 1/4 oz #4. I shot 3 cranes on the ground before flushing and 1 crane in the air at 40 - 50 yds with the Federal turkey loads and 2 cranes in the air at 40 - 50 yds with the Hevishot loads. Definitely worth the price/payload. It is rare to bag cranes on the ground!

1 year agoBest patterning turkey load I’ve ever experienced 40yds had 147 pellets in a 8” circle out of a jebs headhunter.650

1 year ago1st shot at 40 yards dead bird, 2nd shot at 50 yards dead bird. Matched with a Stoeger M3000 and a Carlson TSS choke tube.

1 year agoThese shells are amazing. The number of shot in the kill zone for turkey out to 50 yards is unreal. And they still pack a punch at that distance. A bit pricey, but worth it because of the confidence they give you to make the shot.
