I found that #6 steel shot works great on grouse and hare, even managed to knock a few mallards with it. Worked great on pigeons as well.

NEW Go too shell for upland game 1st time buyer, very impressed with the performance of this shell. Cycled flawlessly in my Benelli SBE & my son's Winchester Autoloader. This load is fast & deadly to doves Fellow Hunter was shooting Kent fast steel and had issues with the crimp opening allowing the shot to pour out if you held shell upside down Highly recommend this shell for upland game. My only negative I started in APRIL trying to buy online most companies WERE BACK CRDERED. Federal needs to bulk.up production to meet the demands of Opening Day dove season

Finally Started using this season and I am glad I did. Won’t go back to lead shot. No issues cycling or any other issues.

Price was reasonable. availability was great. this was the only place I could find these shells other than federal and they wanted more money.

Worked great on doves, and I also pass shot 3 teal. 7 1/2 steel killed better than I thought it would.

Went dove hunting with my semi-auto and the shells worked great. They have enough bang to cycle my gun. Alot of low-brass shells won't which turns my gun into a single shot. They also patterned good. Went 5 for 8 on doves on opening day.

I wish I bought more of this stuff!! Works like a beaut! Bought some boxes on sale in sept 2020 for 9$ each crazy how it’s now on sale for 19$ in 2022. But jeez bud, this is some good stuff.

Shoots as expected. Used for both dove and partridge in upstate New York and Shore of Maryland. Patterns well and does the job.

These are great shells. I still want to pattern them with my shotgun but they have done well so far.

Federal Upland Steel has been my go to ammo for sometime. The 7.5 shot 1 1/8 oz. is perfect for dove. Some hunters prefer 6 shot but 7.5 shot has more pattern density and birds on the ground prove that. Used with a midrange extended tube, the results are excellent.

Absolutely deadly on everything from pheasant to crane or turkey. Higher velocity helps break wing bones on geese out to 60 yds, but the pellet count is so high you usually hit them in the head and neck. If you hunt waterfowl, you should give these a try, shoot at the head and they're dead, just don't shoot anything within 25 yds because if you center them, the meat won't be salvageable.
