Get the all-new FN 509 Tactical Flat Dark Earth Optics and Suppressor ready 9mm Pistol with 17 round and 24 round magazines here at Palmetto State Armory!
The FN 509 Tactical is an extension of the FN 509 family. The pistol features the FN patent-pending Low-Profile Optics Mounting System that enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available miniature red dot (MRD) optics from Trijicon RMR, Vortex Razor, Vortex Viper, Vortex Venom, Burris FastFire, CMore STS II, and more that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights and remain adaptable to future optics releases with no requirement of direct milling of the slide. The slide cap, for use when not shooting with an optic, has raised sight wings that protect iron sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or jostled, and provides a textured ramp for racking the slide against a belt loop, pant pocket or boot. An FN-signature 4.5-inch, cold hammer-forged, stainless-steel barrel with target crown, 1/2” x 28 threads that accept the bulk of 9mm suppressors available and thread cap with integrated O-ring to prevent loosening during use complete the top end. Lastly, this pistol comes with (1) 17 round magazine, (1) 24 round magazines (2) interchangeable backstraps, locking device, and an FN Logo soft pistol case.

2 years agoPicture is accurate, pistol feels good in hand, comes w 1 17 round magazine and 2 24 round magazines. Very aesthetically pleasing as well. The rmr optic was easy to install. Took it out to the range and it feed all different types of ammunition flawlessly. In total about 250 rounds. Upon returning from the range, I noticed the optic came loose, as per instructions lock tight was not recommended so I did not use however I retightened down w blue lock tight this time hopefully it will stay put.

2 years agoWould definitely change the trigger as soon as possible. FN says it's a five to six and a half pound trigger, and I can tell you it's more.

2 years agoIt's a great pistol that gets great reviews. Maybe someday the quarantine will end, the ranges will reopen, and I will be able to actually use it. The colors are better than those on the store page. As you can see in my picture, the slide is much browner and the two tone colors really set things apart. The picture shows the carrying bag, two 24 rd. mags, one 17 rd. mag, and the pistol. The folks at the store were all great despite the workload of the corona shutdowns.

2 years agoMy new favorite. Actually my first non-California compliant firearm since I moved out of state. Two 24 and one 17 round mag.....kapow!

1 year agoThis is a great weapon! First time out I fired 300 rounds flawlessly. Very accurate and extremely comfortable to shoot. Fits my hand perfectly. No regrets on my purchase!

1 year agoEverything is great besides 2 things First is that it does not come with 2 24 round mags anymore Second is the trigger is garbage so the apex trigger is mandatory

1 year agoThis is truly an amazing firearm. Feels great, shoots great. The staff at Sportsman's Warehouse were friendly and professional. They have earned all or most of my future gun business. The only con I have is what the manufacturer states. FN said the gun comes with two 24 round mags and one 17 round mag. That was not the case. It only came with one of each. Outside that, it was an awesome experience from the purchase to the range. As a retired Marine infantryman (0369) with 20 years of service. I've done a lot of shooting with many firearms. This is now my favorite. OOH RAH!

1 year agoNew EDC. Great semi modular fun with accuracy, easy mod, and intuitive controls. Well rounded durable tool.

1 year agoWell, this pistol is everything FN promised in a combat pistol. It’s light weight but solid. I mean solid. This thing has taken a beating since the day I got it. Still has a good unscathed finish. The grips are like dipping your hands in tar and grabbing a handful of feathers. It burns at first til you get calluses where it sits. It out preforms any of the Glocks I have ever used and it isn’t built cheaply like they are. Granted it isn’t cheap but you are paying for quality and reliability. We

1 year agoWhen I received the FN 509 Tactical I was concerned with the trigger after dry firing. The trigger is really gritty and the break is hard and unpredictable. I went online to investigate and learned Apex has a trigger that improves the trigger functionality. I took three handguns to the range today to compare the triggers. All three handguns were brand new. The Springfield Armory XDM Tactical had the best trigger followed closely by the Sig M17. The FN 509 Tactical was a distant third. I’m not

1 year agoPistol functions well, both suppressed and unsuppressed. BUT...trigger is horrible. Gritty, sticky, and averaged 8# 10oz on my Lyman trigger pull gauge. Reset is especially bad. Factory spec is 5.5-7.5# pull. I think there is inadequate clearance between upper trigger and frame here but I'm not sure if that accounts for it all. I have only 60 rounds through this pistol, so I contacted FN, they sent an RMA and the pistol is now at FN. Then I saw all the YouTube reports on issues with

1 year agoThis is an excellent gun. FN has apportioning great right out of the box. I appreciate the craftsmanship shown in this weapon

1 year agoWould have given it 5 stars but the trigger was awful. I replaced it with the Apex trigger and I’m damn glad I did. Great shooting hun. No issues

1 year agoCouldn't be happier with it. So far I have run about 750 rds of Fiocchi through it with no issues. I have also run about 150 rounds of Hornady, Winchester, Sig Sauer and Federal defensive ammo. No issues at all with anything. FN did a nice job. It will replace my VP 9 for home defense, my wife shoots it better than anything else I have ever put in her hands. Great gun

1 year agoNice pistol. Fits a myriad of hand sizes. Trigger is the weakest point in my opinion. I am directly comparing it to my Sig P320 X frame which is the gold standard for me in polymer pistols. After a trigger upgrade, I will enjoy shooting it a lot more, especially suppressed.

1 year agoI bought this gun on a whim because a coworker gave me his Surefire light in FDE and I wanted an FDE pistol. The FN 509 Tactical pistol is great!! Right out of the box it looks amazing I added the light along with the vortex venom. I only took it to the range once so far and probably shot 300 rounds through it. If 9mm ammo didn’t cost as much as a liver I would be shooting it every week. I got the tactical version over the regular version because I am currently waiting for my suppressor to

1 year agoI think the 509 Tactical is a beautiful weapon. I believe point of impact is approximately 2" high on target. My usual grip on the other hand guns in my collection does not work on this particular weapon. My thumb puts enough pressure on the slide lock lever to not slide lock open on an empty magazine and for that this hand gun gets a 3 star from me.

1 year agoSome people don’t like the stock trigger in this handgun, saying its too heavy of a trigger pull, hasn’t given me any trouble. This is my range pistol, and i wouldn’t trade her for any other.
