The FN 509 Tactical is an extension of the FN 509 family. The pistol features the FN patent-pending Low-Profile Optics Mounting System that enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available miniature red dot (MRD) optics from Trijicon RMR, Vortex Razor, Vortex Viper, Vortex Venom, Burris FastFire, CMore STS II, and more that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights and remain adaptable to future optics releases with no requirement of direct milling of the slide. The slide cap, for use when not shooting with an optic, has raised sight wings that protect iron sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or jostled, and provides a textured ramp for racking the slide against a belt loop, pant pocket or boot. An FN-signature 4.5-inch, cold hammer-forged, stainless-steel barrel with target crown, 1/2” x 28 threads that accept the bulk of 9mm suppressors available and thread cap with integrated O-ring to prevent loosening during use complete the top end. Lastly, this pistol comes with (2) 10 Round magazines, (2) interchangeable backstraps, locking device, and an FN Logo soft pistol case.

2 years agoThis firearm is a top quality Belgian pistol made in Columbia, SC. It is amazing in your hand and to shoot, and I absolutely love the look and finish. It has become my favorite firearm.

2 years agoReceived my FN509 tactical around 9/1/18. First, the case is a rugged fabric soft case that looks more like a small laptop than a gun case. It holds the firearm and magazines plus has a pouch for manual and a few extra items. It does not scream gun visually like most hard cases. The grip and feel is solid and firm. Comes with two back-straps for different hand sizes. Ambidextrous magazine release buttons function with precision, kicking the magazine out of well completely. The fixed sights are Trijicon night sights. Included mounting plates allow for several different red dot optic mounting options. I put on a Trijicon RMR 6.5moa which co-witnesses perfectly with the fixed sights and it's spot on. Threaded barrel for easy installation of suppressor. Rail for under barrel light mounting, which I did not do. One 17 rnd. magazine and 2 24 rnd. magazines round out the contents of the case. So far I have aprox. 1.5-2k rounds without a failure to feed or eject. Lastly, this is without a doubt the easiest breakdown for cleaning and re-assembled handgun I own. I carry it on a regular basis in a IWB holster made for it. No regrets.

2 years agoReally love this pistol. The gun runs runs flawlessly , with or without a suppressor. I wish the trigger was smoother though, but otherwise fantastic.

2 years agoI bought from guns.com because the description states, “This model comes with one (1) 17-round magazine two (2) 24-round magazines and a FN logo soft pistol case.” However, the gun only came with one 17-round mag and one 24 round mag. I tried to query this misclaim through customer service a week ago and still haven’t heard back. 2 years agoI purchased the FN 509 and mine also did not come with two 24 round magazines as advertised on Guns.com I called custumer service and I was Told to call the FN manufacturing company. I also would not recommend and buy somewhere else too.

2 years agoA little pricey but the quality is above any other gun I've handled, only complaint is the very end of the trigger seams to be very sharp like razor blade sharp, going to take some 1000 grit and try to knock it down.
