The FN 509 Tactical, an extension of the FN 509 family, is based on FN’s submission pistol that the U.S. Army tested for its Modular Handgun Trials, but includes the significant improvements to the design that were implemented in the FN 509. The pistol features the company’s patent-pending Low-Profile Optics Mounting System that enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available miniature red dot (MRD) optics that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights and remain adaptable to future optics releases with no requirement of direct milling of the slide. The slide cap, for use when not shooting with an optic, has raised sight wings that protect iron sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or jostled, and provides a textured ramp for racking the slide against a belt loop, pant pocket or boot. An FN-signature 4.5-inch, cold hammer-forged, stainless-steel barrel with target crown, 1/2″ x 28 threads that accept the bulk of 9mm suppressors available and thread cap with integrated O-ring to prevent loosening during use complete the top end.

1 year agoPurchased this recently and have had it to the range a couple times. Probably put 350 rounds through it including Federal HSTs with absolutely zero malfunctions. The trigger sucked (I knew that ahead of time based on reviews) and I installed an Apex trigger after the first range session. Huge difference. I added a Trijicon RMR 6.5 moa dot and swapped to the flat backstrap. FN had included the wrong flat backstrap but their customer service was great and they had the correct one to me very … Read More

1 year agoI bought from guns.com because the description states, “This model comes with one (1) 17-round magazine two (2) 24-round magazines and a FN logo soft pistol case.” However, the gun only came with one 17-round mag and one 24 round mag. I tried to query this misclaim through customer service a week ago and still haven’t heard back. I don’t recommend...Read More Read more about review stating Does not come with two 24 round magazines.

1 year agoA little pricey but the quality is above any other gun I've handled, only complaint is the very end of the trigger seams to be very sharp like razor blade sharp, going to take some 1000 grit and try to knock it down.

1 year agoVery nice handgun, shoots very sweet. Low recoil, little loud due to shorter barrel. Love the three mags.
