The Heckler & Koch MP5 is arguably the most imitated pistol-caliber carbine in the world. But even a pretty good copy is still just a copy. The truth is, you can only get a real HK from HK. And now there is finally an authentic sporting version of the MP5 in the US, and it’s a real HK. The New SP5 will make all those generic MP5 copies out there look like nothing more than gun store consolation prizes. The SP5 was developed by Heckler & Koch as a semiautomatic, civilian sporting pistol that matches the look and feel of the legendary MP5 submachine gun. Designed and manufactured to meet the definition of a civilian pistol, the SP5 is loaded with authentic features, like a Navy barrel with threaded tri-lug adaptor, paddle magazine release, and fluted chamber. The backbone of the SP5 is the roller-delayed blowback operating system, which is legendary for its accuracy, reliability, and smooth shooting dynamic. Originally perfected on the Heckler & Koch G3 rifle, it has been used on several other HK firearms still serving today around the world. The SP5 is manufactured in Heckler & Koch’s Oberndorf factory in southwest Germany. It retains many of the critical elements of the MP5, including its precision-machined components and attention to detail. This high level of quality and workmanship is a result of making the SP5 in the same factory, on the same lines, and by the same workforce that has been making MP5s for years. For more comfortable shooting, the SP5 is equipped with an elastic “bungee” sling. The sling is easily installed by snapping it onto the sling swivel hardware located on the rear of the receiver. Using the sling makes firing the SP5 more stable and reduces fatigue. A wide variety of accessories can be added to increase its functionality. As the world’s most popular pistol-caliber carbine platform, the SP5 is supported by an aftermarket loaded with lots of great accessories, from rails and handguards all the way up to everything you need to make your own legally-registered short-barreled rifle.

2 years agoI was pleasantly surprised by how much fun this is to take to the range. Your wallet will be disappointed but you won't be after the first range day.

2 years agoThis is soo AWSOME, super accurate, sights are easy to use, makes it hard to miss your target. Looks fantastic and feels even better. If i had the money id buy a second one. Recommend getting a pistol brace for this bad boy

2 years agoI grew up playing with toy MP5’s so it’s always been a grail gun for me! The price is a bit steep, but it is worth every penny!

2 years agoOregon measure 114 urged me to get it. It's HK brand name and closet to the MP5. Nice finish and looks great.

2 years agoGreat HK product. The quality is outstanding. Took a little over two years to buy one. I'm glad I bought the real deal and not a clone. If it's like all the HK products of the past (91,93) it will only go up in value. I would highly recommend one.

2 years agoI owned one of the SW5 copies from about 20 years ago as a frame of reference. This is the real thing and the difference is amazing. It is now a legit SBR with the A3 HK stock, magpie front end and a Surefire Scout Light, and a Trijicon MRO on a Botach mount. Love it. If you want to co-witness sights and optic, then this combo will do it.

2 years agoI thought it was my dream gun when I was growing up. Now that I have it, it is hands down my favorite gun.

2 years agoIncredible fit and finish in a exceptionally solid build. Fun to shoot at the range with very little recoil.

2 years agoThis gun is amazing to shoot… and it is already pending form1. Hardly any recoil from that delayed blowback, and highly accurate factory ghost ring sights… but I will probably put on an Hk rail and a red dot at some point. Aside from being extremely accurate and fun to shoot, the barrel is threaded/3lug so it could be a suppressor host without any additional expense. Can’t wait for this to be an SBR. Yippee Kay Aye (for those of you old enough to enjoy the nostalgia factor, too).

2 years agoCanceled my order after I purchased- said not in stock anymore but then re-listed the SP5 for more then we agreed on. Terrible

2 years agoHk sp5 is the highest quality firearm I’ve seen or owned unfortunately I still haven’t had the time to fire it but I’m sure I won’t be disappointed as I did my research on this firearm before buying it and I have only seen and read good things about it so get one if you can and while you can and enjoy it both for an investment and for fun shooting...Read More Read more about review stating Simply a beautiful firearm

2 years agoSaw this listed and jumped. Next day after order was confirmed, the price was several hundred dollars more. Glad I didn’t wait to place my order. Understand price fluctuation due to demand and vendor pricing. I’m amazed at how smooth shooting this thing is. Incredible. I added a folding brace and mount from HK Parts, along with a Romeo 5 red d...Read More Read more about review stating Expensive but worth it IMO

2 years agoOut of the box, at 60 ft, I nailed the black ring with every shot, and several red-ring bullseyes. Didn't have to adjust anything; the manual states that the gun is test fired at the factory for zero at 25m and I believe it. There is hardly any recoil. I would recommend buying a brace or SBR stock. The included bungie cord, while supposed...Read More Read more about review stating Most accurate gun I've tried

2 years agoThe pistol is Solid, top quality, definitely HK. I looked at several clones all good quality, however the SP5 feels a bit better.

2 years agoThe process as well as the firearm has been pretty awesome. Incredible quality and one of the smoothest weapons I've gotten to shoot. Really glad I got it.

2 years agoThis HK is top quality, now that I have one in my hands I know why now people say it’s worth the money. Believe me I broke the piggybank for it. But wow… it’s all worth it. I have always owned different brands of firearms but HK is one of the top quality firearms maker if not the best one… don’t think about it just buy it, you won’t regret it

2 years agoreliable, simple, very little recoil, high quality German made gun with a lot of history behind it. Great gun to have for serious gun collectors

2 years agoIf you want a true civilian version of the MP5, this is it. It actually looks better than my HK-94 SBR build. Which is saying a lot.

2 years agoThis was a great buy, I searched high and low for this gun, and every place wanted 4-6k for this one. This is a collectors dream gun. PSA my favorite place to buy guns.

2 years agoThe firearm itself is great. Mine did not come with magazines which was frustrating because at this price point ($3k+) and the magazine’s individual value (~$100 each) I expected at least to receive what was advertised. HK didn’t help me, importer didn’t help me, PSA offered me a $25 gift card. The firearm also came in a much cheaper feeling plastic case instead of the fabric HK bag you expect it to come in and I received an SP5K owners manual, but those don’t bother me as much. You’ve been warned.
