In any firearm, especially a handgun, the many “touchpoints” between the shooter and the firearm are critical to consistent, repeatable, performance. The touchpoints we’ve emphasized on the VP that may actually help you improve on the range as well.
Experience gained by HK engineers with the P30 hammer-fired pistol had a direct influence on the design of the VP9, but the VP9 breaks new ground with its integration of a unique striker firing system with an enhanced HK “light pull” trigger. The net result is a pistol with custom-fit ergonomics with trigger quality unequaled in any production striker fired handgun.
Ergonomic, adjustable grip – Every detail, including the grip angle, the contour of the front strap and the high rear saddle were chosen to fit the human hand. And the adaptable grip frame allows you to interchange both backstraps and grip panels in 27 unique configurations to fit your hand. All of these features help you get the same consistent grip, every time you pick up your VP.
Best-in-class trigger – The VP trigger surpasses those found on competitors. It has a short, light take-up with a solid, single action type break followed by a short positive reset.
Striker Fired – The VP Series pistols use a striker fired ignition and a modified Browning operating system combined with an optimal precision strike trigger control system – it is in essence a premium HK P30 frame mated to an advanced striker fired slide design. Materials include proprietary HK steel for barrel, slide, springs, pins, and internal components.

2 years agoi own 3 VP9's 2 of them are the optics ready vp9. I love them and I have run almost over 4000 rounds though the 2 of them since the beginning of february 2020. in that time I have run them hard in classes and have had zero failures which says a lot because we run them in our classes. As a full time firearms instructor I see a lot of failures in certain guns and with the hk line we have had nothing but great luck. with them. I highly recommend the hk vp9!

2 years agofantastic pistol. Ergonomics are nearly identical to my walther ppq m1. Size is almost the same but ppq is slightly wider so a kydex holster for the ppq won't fit a VP9, but it's close. Nylon or leather holsters should be easily interchangeable. came with 2 mags and Picked up two extra mags for it. the 17rd mags that came with it have a red follower and the extras I bought have black followers - all are 17rds. not sure what that indicates, but the red follower mags have a slight … Read More

2 years agoI am a first-time gun owner interested in home and personal defense. A subject matter expert recommended this gun to me. I purchased 115gr FMJ range ammo for it. However, when time came to fire my gun in class, it repeatedly jammed. No doubt my form was subpar, and the instructors blamed it on my limp wrists. However, I did some research when I got home and found out that I was not alone. Search YouTube for “HK VP9 jammed” or “vp9 jamming”. You will find many subject matter experts who

1 year agoSo far so good added the rmr easy to zero in gun fits hand great will be replacing my g19 as edc. My only gripe is I thought I bought a 100% German made and assembled and proofed which it is all that except was proofed in USA so mine does not have the standard German proof markings But still shoots and functions 100% thus far.

1 year agoPros: Easy to clean and disassemble. Extra grip panels & back strap make it easy to fit an individual's hand. Points well for me. Installation of a red dot is a snap. 17rd mags. H&K quality, fit and finish. Magazine release & slide release on both sides of pistol. Con: particular about the ammo it likes to shoot. Not many options for holsters. No cleaning brush provided. Probably on the most expensive striker fired. Magazine release paddle is unusual. Would recommend. Be aware that this is not a compact pistol.

1 year agoRan about a hundred rounds through it and it performed flawlessly. Got the grip adjusted to my liking and it feels great in my hand. Love the trigger.

1 year agoIt is a pretty good pistol, but it doesn't come with night sights. Trigger is good, reset is short. Trigger pull weight is just normal. Good gun! Sportsmans have very good staffs at FL. Thank you

1 year agoFor comparison, it's only slightly more expensive than a Glock 17 MOS but with superior ergonomics and trigger press. It's also built like a tank, while the Glock is more minimalist. Ergonomics: One of the few pistols where you can actually make the grip *wider*---much appreciated by monkey-pawed shooters like myself. Trigger press: Really good---almost Walther good. For dry practice, I like how the trigger does *not* lock into position like the Glock---you can continue to move

1 year agoIt wasn't long after the order that it was sent to my FFL and that transfer went smoothly. The pistol arrived in new condition never been fired and it was lubed. The only gripe was the case that it was in wasn't in mint condition but none the less the pistol was and it wasn't a concern any longer. I am very happy with my transaction at Guns.com an...Read More Read more about review stating Recent Purchase Experience

1 year agoI was disappointed to find out this pistols rear sight is blacked out( no 2 dot sights. I probably would not have bought it if I had known that. I am having to buy new sights to make this gun what I thought I was getting. I wish you r pictures would have indicated the blacked out sights, or the description would have indicated that.

1 year agoGreat ergonomics, size, weight, capacity, accuracy, and quality at a great price. Better than glock on all aspects.

1 year agoThey didn't send me my magazines that came with the gun, and didn't offer a discount for the mags that they pulled which I paid for. I couldn't find the magazines online anywhere, so all I got was a $800 dollar paper weight. Do they have Beto working for them? Never again

1 year agoIt’s just amazingly sexy, form-fitting in hand. Truly it is a work of art. I trust this gun with my life before I even shoot it . German engineering at its finest! The doing is tight but I’m sure it will lighten after I put a few hundred rounds down range. I have the H&K VP40 as well. Heavy duty gun to make light work of any intruder—-1 rd 40 S&W is sufficient & more than enough.
