We’ve developed the Henry Long Ranger to stretch the envelope in a design that takes the hunt to the fur in popular calibers at longer distances. The Long Ranger retains traditional lever action operation with an exposed hammer and forged steel lever but updates it with a geared action. A machined and chromed steel bolt with a 6-lug rotary head is driven into a rear extension of the barrel for a strong and consistent lock-up from shot to shot to shot. With side ejection and a lightweight aerospace alloy receiver, the top is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and the bottom features a steel-bodied flush-fit detachable magazine (4 round in 6.5 Creedmoor) with a steel floorplate and a blackened steel release button on the right side of the receiver. All behind a 22 inches round and blued free-floated sporter barrel, and supported by a 2-piece oil-finished American Walnut stock with precise laser-cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a solid black rubber recoil pad for both recoil control and non-slip anchoring on the shoulder for the rapid follow-up shots where lever actions excel. Like our other centerfires, the Long Ranger carries on the in-hammer sliding transfer bar as a safety, instead of a manual safety button or slider that can be hard to operate with gloves. Accurate, You bet. This is the Best-In-Class lever gun that leaves many bolt actions in the dust. If you’ve ever passed up a lever in favor of a bolt because of accuracy doubts, then doubt no longer. We didn’t pick the Long Ranger name out of a hat, if you need a tight-shooter that’ll reach out there, this rifle delivers. From coyote to whitetail to bear, the new Long Ranger is a logical evolution in lever action technology as America’s contribution to classic firearms design, and it has you covered from hardwood forest to sagebrush flat in a trim, quick handling, and dependable 7 lb rifle you’ll be happy to reach for as you head out the door.

Features:

  • Target, hunting and large game
  • Swivel studs, removable magazine

The 6.5 Creedmoor is accurate for a leveraction and action is smooth, however, Henry needs to do something about the cheap sights they use. BB guns have as good of sights as the Long Ranger. Went to drift the rear sight and the sight came apart. I'm sure Henry would send a replacement if I called, but, I wouldn't put the same sight back on it, just too cheap to be on such a nice gun.

Love the 4 + 1 capacity and lever action. Bought it to do long range target shooting and some wild turkey hunts come spring. The rifle I received had a darker walnut stock than the one shown. Henry makes great rifles. I own 2 other Henry rifles and all have masterful workmanship.

I went with the 6.5CM as I already have a ammo for my Sauer bolt actions. Very smooth and balanced. Accurate sights, recoil is light. My wife went with the 243 version and prefers that to the 6.5. I added a dab of Truglo sight paint so I can shoot without my Spits eyewear top bifocal shooting glasses.

I've owned many lever and bolt action rifles and the long ranger is by far the worst trigger. Gritty creep and heavy pull. Not a long range rifle with a trigger like that. Read the forums and you'll find many trying to polish and alter the trigger because it's a very heavy pull. As one described it, it's like pulling a brick. Sold mine a month aft...Read More Read more about review stating Worst trigger in production.

Uses available, [relatively] inexpensive ammo. Good iron sights and very accurate. Smooth lever action and great trigger. Good looking gun and made in USA

Transaction went well, upon request guns.com added my preferred local FFL to their map. FU California received the Henry as promised. Being in Kalifornia we are made to wait an unconstitutional amount of time before being allowed to take possession... Blah.

Only got it yesterday so it's too soon to tell. Fit and finish are very good. I' looking forward to it based on all the reviews. The action is a little stiff, but I assume it will loosen up over time. Guns.com shipped fast and comms were good. A little pricey but you were the only place I could find it.
