there are few things as deeply ingrained into American firearms culture as a lever action .45-70 rifle, especially when it’s made right here on U.S. soil. It evokes images and fantasies of days past while still being wholly capable in the hands of a modern hunter. The Lever Action X Model .45-70 borrows all that nostalgia and crams it into a feature-packed modern big bore rifle that begs to be put through the wringer.
Tough synthetic furniture provides a lightweight and worry-free alternative to our typical hardwood and accommodates in-line sling swivel studs, a Picatinny rail, and M-Lok accessory slots on the forestock. The solid rubber recoil pad ensures that the buttstock won’t slip and slide around while shooting a cartridge that can take down even the largest game in the world. The blued steel barrel is topped off with fiber optic sights for quick target acquisition and the muzzle end is threaded (5/8×24 pitch) to accept a suppressor or any other muzzle device you choose. Continuing with the theme of modularity, the rifle’s receiver is drilled and tapped to accept your choice of optics

2 years agoLove Henry rifles! 45-70 is a beast. Love the threaded barrel so I can suppress it. Just a great all around gun

2 years agoVery nice action and sights. Ammo is hard to find. Recoil is heavy with 420 grain +p the 250 grain are much lighter recoil. Rail works for a light or bipod. I had to order scope rail from Henry and a muzzle break.

1 year agoA fantastic, hard hitting lever action with buttery smooth action. I bought this threaded X model to have the option of running suppressed and it has been perfect. Not surprised though as I own other Henry's so I knew what I was buying!

1 year agoJust took it out last weekend for the first time for some target shooting. Loved it! The only down side is the cost of the 45-70 ammunition. The Henry X rocks!

1 year agoThe only bad thing I have to say about this is the cost of 45-70 ammo, but that's not He ry's fault!

1 year agoMy third Henry and I settled on this for the time being because the one I want hasn’t been seen in two years. This one will be in my rifle scabbard, strapped to my horse.

1 year agoWhat can I really say that has not been already said? This is a well made rifle that is an absolute blast to shoot. The rifle really likes the Hornady Lever Evolution rounds. Going to get a muzzle brake to help reduce the recoil a bit. Take care of it, keep it clean, and it should last a lifetime.

1 year agoI've wanted one for a while. Henry makes a great gun. I mounted a 1x4 scope to it. It will be my brush gun.

1 year agoAbsolutely beautiful gun! I waited almost three years to find one and ended up driving 2 hours to Southern Utah to grab one they had in stock. Well worth the wait and the drive to get one of these at MSRP price!

1 year agoThis real and legitimate review. I love this gun! Yes, there is a competitor’s model that gets the press and costs double the cost, but there’s no way it is twice as good as this gun. I would venture to say they’re on even footing especially once you add the xs sights rail. I will likely leave as is though. I really like the fiber optic sights fro...Read More Read more about review stating Henry Model X 45-70 H010X

1 year agoIt was a toss-up, between Marlin and Henry, Henry won out! Can't go wrong with the filks from Guns.com. They have been by far the best website to purchase firearms!

1 year agoBeen waiting on this model to come back in stock for a while. Put three boxes through it just for zeroing and familiarization. This rifle is perfectly suited right out of the box. With that said, my plan is to “tactical” this one up a bit to dabble is tactical lever-action shooting. I’ve pondered the value of a lever-action in a home defense role....Read More Read more about review stating Smooth as silk action!

1 year agoI've wanted a Henry rifle in 45-70 since they came out. This rifle has all my wish list items, loading into the tube plus the side feed, also the threaded barrel for muzzle devices. It fits me perfectly when I aim and I look forward to shooting it and carrying it for elk and deer season.
