While we are fond of the brass tradition begun by B.T. Henry’s 1860 rifle, we do understand that today’s hunter may prefer something a shade lighter on the mountain, and the Big Boy Steel Side Gate carries on the same brush gun appeal of the brass-framed Big Boys in its overall configuration, but with upgraded features for the modern hunter, while weighing in 1.68lbs. less than its cousin. These Side Gate models come in .357 Mag/.38 Special, .44 Mag/.44 Special, and .45 Colt, with either a standard 20″ round barrel and regular lever, or a compact 16.5″ round barrel and a large-loop lever for gloved cold-weather use and extra style points. Both models feature fine checkering on the genuine American walnut fore-end and straight-wrist stock, range-adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and brass bead front sights, an automatic in-hammer transfer bar safety, and our best-of-both-worlds side loading gate and removable tube magazine configuration. Rifles hold ten rounds in the tube, and carbines hold seven.

1 year agoGot super lucky in getting this rifle as it was in stock for about 10 minutes! Was delivered super fast. always great service from gag. The rifle is beautiful and what i have wanted for a long time. when the big boy steel .357 was announced with the side gate, i had to have it. it is the best of both worlds. can load with gate or tube and unload without cycling rounds. it's a rifle to pass on to kids, grandkids for sure.

1 year agoDelivered with the normal fast gag processing. Took it to the range to try it out and it shoots like a dream. Light kick when shooting .38, even .357 could shoot all day. Cycles well and had no problems. Accurate, lightweight, and easy to handle.

1 year agoThis is a sweet shooting rifle. The action is smooth. I had problems seeing the stock bead sight so added Hi Viz sights and improved the sight picture greatly. Rifle is accurate and easy to get less than 1.5 inch groups at 50 yards. With optics could do better. Great purchase.

1 year agoI already have a Golden Boy 22 mag and a Henry 410 shotgun. The Big Boy 357 is exactly what I expected. Al three firearms are great to shoot. They look great and are of superior quality. I do and have recommended Henry firearms to friends and family. Sportsman Warehouse is great to work with. The 357 arrived a week early. I put a red dot sight on and they bore sighted it free of charge.
