Using a Mossberg 535 with a AT3 tactical red dot and a Carlson's tss .640 choke non-ported. Ranges where checked with a rangefinder. Backing paper was approximately 30inx30in with champion turkey targets. Counted approximately 330 pellets inside of a 10in circle at 40 yards. With few fliers. At 20 yards it yielded a dense core of pellets and a forgiving pattern around the core. I did not count pellets in a 10in circle at 20 because of the absurd number of pellets in the core. Recoil was moderate when compared to 3in turkey loads like longbeard XR and Grand Slams which might make this ammunition appealing to smaller stature individuals and younger hunters. In conclusion for a budget TSS load (if you consider $50 budget) it performs very well. I believe it will be my hunting load for spring turkey season.

18" consistent patterns at 40 yards out of a Franchi Affinity 3 20 gauge with Carlsons .555 choke. Definitely worth the money. 1 1/2oz of tungsten #9's is plenty.

PATTERN TEST WITH REM. 12 GA. EXPRES MAG.3" WITH 21" BARREL CARLSON .660 LONG BEARD TURKE CHOKE TUBE. WITH NIKON TURKEY PRO 1.6-5 SCOPE . SHOOTING A BIG TOM LIFE SIZE TARGET 12.5X 19".TESTED HERTERS #9 TSS. 1.5 OZ., WIN. LONG BEARD #5 1 3/4 OZ. , LONG BEARD #6 1 7/8 OX. AT 40 YARDS HERTERS TSS RESULTS WERE 27 PELLETS IN THE SKULL & SPINE, 47 IN BODY OF THE HEAD , 155 IN THE 11' SURONDING CIRCLE. WIN. LONG BEARD #6 16 IN THE SKULL AND SPINE 63 IN BODY OF THE HEAD, 120 IN SURONDING CIRCLE. WIN. LONG BEARD #5 20 IN THE SKULL AND SPINE 38 IN THE BODY OF THE HEAD AND 97 IN THE SURONDING CIRCLE. ALL SHOT WOULD WORK FOR ME AT THAT RANGE ,BUT HERTERS TSS WAS VERY EFFECTIVE AND WOULD REACH OUT FURTHER TO 45-50 YARDS WITH THIS RIG. I WAS ABLE TO FIND THE LONG BEARD AND THE NEW TSS HERTERS AT CABELAS- LONG BEARD SOLD OUT LAST YEAR AND WAS HARD TO FIND CLOSER TO THE OPENING DATE. THE HERTERS TSS WILL PROBABLY SELL OUT TO AND YES I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN.

Using a Rossi tuffy turkey .410 with a Jebs x-full. These patterned better at 40 yards out of my set up than the browning and federal competitors. Can’t be beat for the price if you are a club member.

Shoots great for a store brand ammo. Only issues that I have is that I wish they had a larger payload. Otherwise they are great!

I was pleased at how it shot, the pattern it held. Didn’t see many flyers, will def continue to shoot it until everyone figures how good it is and then I won’t be able to find it!!

Nice pattern shot thru the Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike choke tube. I’m new to TSS ammo but tight patterns at long ranges speaks for itself. The most amazing difference is in what I’ve grown up being taught. Bigger shot size the better. Not true, shot size. #9 shot allows many more shot to fit in the shell. This puts many more shot down range that are plenty lethal. It really has turned turkey hunting on its head. Killing turkeys at 60 yards plus. I have turned down shots closer with regular turkey loads in fear I would wound or educate birds. I still wouldn’t take that 60 yard shot before I patterned my gun, shells and choke. Then I was confident with the impressive amount of shot in the vital areas. Now at $10 a shot at least for 20g or 12g your turkey does become more expensive. If you decoy or call a bird into the range that one should bring them in then TSS isn’t necessary. However, If a bird hangs up for whatever reason, it is nice to know I can still reach out and get him.

Bought these for a recently purchased Stephens 410 single shot shotgun. Going to take my nephew’s turkey hunting and wanted a smaller gun to start them out. These rounds shot like a dream at 40 yards.

Bought the 12ga 2 3/4" #9. My shotgun can only shoot these length shells. It's hard to find good turkey ammo in this length. Although I've only shot 1 round, I am impressed. I shot 40 yards and it appears I could shoot out to 50 with these loads. If your gun can only handle 2 3/4, its worth the price for this ammo.

I bought these for the first time this year for spring turkey. I was looking for 12 gauge TSS rounds that were 2 3/4" (lower recoil), compared to other magnum loads etc.. that tear up my shoulder. Dropped this bird like a rock at just under 50 yds, I will be using these shells again!

Hunting with a friend using Herters 410 ga # 9 shot turkey loads purchased at Cabelas; hewas able to cleanly kill an adult Tom at 42 yards. The shell has a very dense pattern at 32 yds.

Herter's #9 shot delivered a tight pattern @ 20yrds & a good,core pattern around the head/neck/wattle area @ 40yrds with my Stevens 301 sgl. shot .410ga/bore & a Indian Creek .390 choke. Winchester makes this Ammo!!!
