2 years agoThese shells are awesome. They pack hevi-shot reliability and quality into an affordable package. My Browning BPS 12ga loves these shells. I had no problems knock birds down out to the 50 yard mark. They also preformed beautifully on those think feathered mergansers we have here in WY. I am so excited for the new 10ga version, i hope my 10 likes them.

2 years agoPurchased these to test out in my Stoeger M3500 for waterfowl. I purchased the 3.5" in 2 shot. I am shooting out of a 26"bbl with a Cabela's Northern Flight ER (extended range) choke tube. These pattern better than my Remington Nitro Steel with a modified choke tube (3.5" are supposed to have bigger patterns than 3" so I'm told). I was able to drop a few medium sized ducks around 35 yards, dropped them stone cold. I will be purchasing more of this in bigger shot for geese. I think this is a great combo in this shotgun.

1 year agoAwesome! Gives all of the expensive "Specialty" steel a run for its money. I usually shoot HeviMetal but have wanted to try these for a while. Great load, great price, great results.

1 year agoTried this shell for the first time this season. I am very impressed with the results. Have always shot the Kent Fasteel #4 and was satisfied with them until I tried the Heavy Metal. Will probably make this my go to shell for ducks.

1 year agoI've been reading the reviews on Hevi-Steel and thought I would relay my experience with it. I'm a big fan of the 28 gauge. I own a CZ Ringneck in 28 and love it. I bought a couple of boxes of Hevi-Steel 2-3/4 #4's and used them last season for ducks over decoys. What a fun time! The vast majority of the ducks I shot were dead before they hit the water. Easy retrieves. Thank you Enviro-Metal and Cabela's for offering an affordable non-tox load for the 28 gauge. I'm looking forward to this up coming season. Ducks over the decoys and my 28. TOO MUCH FUN!

1 year agoDuck season is right around the corner here where I live. It’s got me thinking about all the new gear I will have to get for this season. When it comes to what shells I’m shooting, I always look to Hevi Steel. They say Hevi Metal is ten times more effective, but I’ve ran pattern test on both to compare and their practically the same. I love shoot 3 inch shells around here and I think you will too!!

1 year agoI bought a couple boxes to see if its how friends make it out to be. I could hit fast moving birds but every bird i hit got crippled and didnt kill one. On paper at 30 yards covered a 3ft x3ft pattern was blown out and had big holes everywhere. This round feels like a short brass target load and has absolutely no knockdown power whatsoever. I will not be buying another product from this brand ever again. It would get zero stars but thats not an option so 1 will do.

1 year agoI patterned this load along with Black Cloud and Kent. The 3 in BB at 1500 FPS load is well constructed but the higher velocity of this load gave me a more open pattern. on average this put 65 BBs in a 30 inch circle at 40 yards. the steel is round and the shot is well constructed. it might shoot better out of your gun, but not my go to load. I would have liked fewer holes in the pattern but it will kill geese.

1 year agoDecided to give these a try after a work friend told me his gun loved them. I shoot a Winchester SXP, with a Calrson's Cremator LR, and at 40 yards, with #3 shot, I'm getting great patterns. Can't wait to try it on birds.

1 year agoHevi Steel is the best all steel ammo I have used for years now. Can't beat the price or the results...It has not failed me yet. I use the 3" in #3 shot in my O/U for both ducks and geese. Use the 3.5" from BB-4 shot for ducks and geese in my Maxus, A-5,Benelli Super Nova and Win SXP. Been using the Hevi Shot Choke tubes in both ER & MR. Combined together have made many of many successful trip to the field.

1 year agoI bought 2 cases of these during the 18/19 season. I finished out the 18 season with a mixed opinion and started the 19/20 season with them. Shooting 12ga 3" 1 1/4oz # 1 shot. You'd think these would be some hammers, wrong. Surprisingly,I've seen a lot birds crippled or knocked unconscious requiring follow up shots. My son shooting a cheaper 20ga 3" #4 load kills birds better than these.

1 year agoI've moved from Xpert to Blackcloud to Hevi Steel over the past 3-4 years and have to say that my shooting has been the most consistent it's ever been since I switched. From in close to longer shots, these shells cover all our hunting situations.

1 year agoI started using Hevi-Steel last year, and let me tell you its worth the buy. This stuff is straight shooting. I have not had nearly as many crippled birds since switching PLUS it is affordable. Very reliable ammunition from chasing teal to those stubborn greenheads.

1 year agoNormally the Hevi-Shot is a bit out of the price range I'm willing to pay, but if you can get any of their products on sale, including this Hevi Steel, it's worth it. Quality materials and construction, from the brass to the crimp. Patterns well across many of my shotguns, and the powder burns clean, leaving little if any residue.

1 year agoI bought these in Sept for early teal season, and by golly me and my friends made it rain. Hands down the best shells iv ever used for duck hunting. I will continue to use these for many seasons to come. Excellent shot shells

1 year agoSeashells work awesome for pheasants where steel shot is required and for jump shooting ducks on creeks put some down hard with no cripples

1 year agoI couldn't find what I was looking for, so I purchased these. They were cheap. For what little I use it for, ammo is ammo. I am only writing this review to be entered into the drawing. Thanks for reading.

1 year agoBeen using these shells for some time and had great results... u can find cheaper shells but there are worth the money

1 year agoBought a couple of boxes of 3 inch #2's to try and just hammered geese with them. Then 2 more boxes of 2's then 4 boxes of BB's and love this shells. Works better for me in my A400 than anything I have tried.

1 year agoI've shot these shells for the past 5 years, they went on sale for $19.99 - $22.99 a box. I understand inflation but WOW, I mean I like the shells but definitely not worth $30 bucks a box, Comon hevisteel make these affordable again.
