Overall a good load.. as advertised, it drops birds effectively in close range (7s) and long range (5s). With this, comes its only negative: the wide spread of the 7 shot. After shooting several birds with it, and consistently having to pick out 7 shot from the upper part of the breast, i must say it is not the best load for someone who likes to cook and share their harvest with others. Those darn 7s are too small and spread too wide for me.

1187 hevi shot choke works great tight patterns out to 60 yards can’t ask for better than that did some testing to no comparison

I bought the 20 ga magnum blend turkey loads a couple of years ago for my wife to shoot spring gobblers with her 20 ga. 870. I also added a high end red dot reflex sight to it. Since she has used the magnum blend I have seen her shoot mature birds from 20 yds. to 45 or so with instant kills on all. It is so impressive that I am putting together a 20 ga. remington 1187 for myself for this spring. I recommend this product highly.

Finally! A 3 1/2" shell that will throw an excellent pattern from my Mossberg 835 Tactical Shotgun at 40+ yards! I tested all the major shells on the market and several different choke tubes. Far and away this was the best patterning combination out there. If you have a Mossberg 835 Tactical and are struggling to find 3 1/2" shells that will throw exceptional patterns, you might consider giving this combination a try. Both the choke tube and shells are expensive, but worth it for someone who is trying to achieve range capability beyond 40 yards!

Serious turkey loads. 45 yards no problem for these turkey loads with the right gun/choke combination

One shot, bird down for 2019. I’d highly recommend these turkey loads above any other-especially if steel is required. Pattern held tight while testing it out, and now I’ve got turkey to eat thanks to these shells.

12G 3.5" shells pattern very well and perform as best as one could hope in the field. I have taken 4 Gobblers with this round (all within 30 yards). I have patterned this round from 20 yards to 65 Yards and am very impressed.

i have been using this ammunition for approximately 4 years now and am consistently amazed with how quick birds go down stone cold dead. The most recent one was taken at 52 yards and never flopped. My 3" gun has a killing pattern at 60 yards and is simply the best i've used in 30 years of turkey hunting in 5 states.

With a great reputation like the one Hevi-Shot carries, this load will not disappoint! Don’t let the price tag scare you....this load is super-dense. It shreds a target at 40 yards, and is easily a 60+ yards killer. As long as they keep making Magnum Blend,I’ll keep buying it!!!

amazing grouping - consistent - deadly. Completely perfect at 50 yds. 14 pellets in the kill zone at that distance.

I used the 3.5" 2 1/4 oz 5,6, and 7 load to kill several turkeys from my Remington 870 Special purpose Turkey 20" with the Magnum Blend .662" choke tube. This combination has proven to produce very deadly patterns to 70 yards. Most of the turkeys have been killed at ranges that nearly any turkey load would be effective, under 40 yards. But this year my Merriams hung up at 61 yards according to my laser range finder and strutted back and forth but would come no closer. I don't normally shoot this far but since I had pattern tested the gun and load at 70 yards I decided to give it a go and put the red dot of my Aimpoint H1 Micro on the toms head. At the shot he dropped with a broken neck and multiple head and neck hits. I'm seriously considering giving some of the newer TSS loads a test as well but for now this is my turkey load of choice.

Awesome turkey loads. I use a 12g Remington Versamax (28inc barrel), with a Hevi Shot Choke Tube. It patterns very nicely from 20yards (the closest I tried) all the way to 60 (the furthest I could try) and it still felt like it could have gone further. Ive killed a few birds with it over the years and have not been disappointed. Just wish it came in 20g 2 3/4 for a youth model gun. its not the cheapest shell around but not the most expensive either. IG @agkohyoutube

I've shot so many turkeys with this Hevi shot blend and when you hit them they don't move. This is all I will shoot now out of my gun.

I love Hevi-Shot. And with the Covid 19 lockdown in Michigan happening right before the start of turkey season My local stores were closed. I placed my order with Cabelas hoping they would ship it fast, but expecting I wouldn’t see the shells until the into the second week of season as standard shipping was the only option. I was pleasantly surprised when the shells showed up on day 2!! But when opening the package up my pleasant surprise turned to sad disappoint. Cabelas had shipped 3 1/2” shells. My gun can only shoot up to 3”. Thinking I must have made a mistake I checked my order. Nope, I ordered correctly, 3” shells. The hassle of shipping them back wasn’t worth it. I traded a with a friend who also needed hevi-shot, but he could use 3 1/2”. In return I got some subpar turkey loads from another company. But at least they were 3”. I understand how easy it can happen. But I was disappointed in Cabelas none the less. Use to be a great store for hunting gear.

My entire family has been using these shells for the last couple of years and the results have been nothing short of OUTSTANDING. Coupled with a HEVI-Shot choke tube these shells deliver devastating downrange kills out to 60+ yards. I think these are the best turkey loads you can buy.

I shot a Gobbler in the face at 35 yards and the bird jumped into the air then ran away. I double checked my pattern and I was right on with the shot, don't waste your money on this.
