1 year agoJust received the ones I ordered. Have never used Hevi-Shot before, but as more places are turning towards lead-free, I had to find some. These were the most cost effective that I could find, as most other Tungsten shot shells are $50 - $80 for 5 shells. Doesn't allow much for trying to pattern them. Planning on shooting them through an Avian X turkey choke out of my Winchester SXP 12 gauge. Depending on how they group and how they perform on the hunt, I'll come back and adjust my rating.

1 year agoThe Hevi X 3" 12 gauge 5,6's load is the bargain load of non toxic turkey loads. I have killed several California Toms with it out to about 41 yards. However, I also wounded and lost a bird at 47 yards. This load is significantly cheaper than other Tungsten loads because it uses a much lower quality shot than the Federal TSS loads or Hevi 18 loads. It is a good lead alternative for a relatively cheap price, and will easily kill turkeys to 40 yards. With a Carlson's super full turkey tss tube, I averaged 6 lethal pellets to the brain, neck and spine on a turkey target at 40 yards.

1 year agoKilled my first Tom with it… 45 yards and took 2 shots. Didn’t pattern really really great with the mossberg 835 with black diamond choke. Shot low but now I know to adjust. Worth the price per round compared to all the other $10 a shot rounds.

1 year agoUnbelievable performance last week on my turkey hunt. The number of shot that were on target at 60 yards was truly impressive.

1 year agoOnly non lead available when I needed some. Patterns well at 30 with a tru glo gobbler stopper extreme on a 12 ga miss berg 500. I think a tighter choke would be needed for anything beyond 40. Does it what it supposed too.
