1 year agoThe HK P2000 is one of the most underrated pistols of the 21st century. In a world dominated by striker-fired pistols, that are really only best for helping shooters put a negligent discharge through their own groin, this hammer-fired Double-Action/Single-Action pistol really sticks out of the pack for me. For those who are unfamiliar with the P2000, the best way to describe its place in history is that it was an intermediary pistol that came after the dominance of the USP and the USP-compact in the 90s, and before the P30's dominance since the mid-2000s. The P2000 has somewhat been lost in history since the P30's introduction. This is unfortunate since the P2000 has advantages over both the USP and the P30 series. P2000's pros: -The P2000's size and dimensions are the best for those of us who require a pistol that you can easily conceal and carry without reducing mag capacity. It is very similar in size to the Glock19, which is arguably the best-known compact pistol of the past 30 years. -The P2000 has a great and crisp single-action trigger pull. The double-action pull is slightly longer than average, but does lend to its increased safety over striker-fired pistols. The trigger is substantially better than the USP's. -The P2000 is compatible with P30 magazines which makes finding magazines very easy, and allows you to increase the pistol's capacity over 13! -The P2000 has a charming and unique esthetic. It is reminiscent of the USP-compact (which is one of the finest looking pistols of all time), without becoming over-stylized like most pistols made today. P2000 Cons: -The standard mag size of 13 is smaller than most modern defensive shooters are used to (15+ rounds). Luckily, the P2000 does accept P30 mags, however, you need to purchase X-grips and install them to the magazine to keep them from over-traveling into the pistol. -The trigger's resent is definitely longer than average. This does not affect accuracy, but it does reduce the rate-of-fire for rapid fire shooting. Luckily, Langdon Tactical is now providing trigger upgrades for these pistols. -The German-styled mag release (its a lever on the trigger guard, not a button on the grip) will prove inconvenient for many American shooters. In particular, the mag release on this pistol is stiffer and smaller than any European pistol I've seen, so it takes some practice. I’ve been concealed carrying this pistol for 8 months now and I’m loving it. I’ve also been shooting this pistol at USPSA matches in limited and production division. In production division I am coming in top 10% of the pack. For the reader’s reference, most of my pistol shooting experience is with DA/SA pistols like older Sigs (P226/P229/SP2022), and the Walther P99. For those who’ve never used the DA/SA pistol before, let me summarize why they are my only choice for concealed carry, especially if you carry in the appendix/1 o’clock position. The list of people who’ve accidently shot themselves with Glocks and other striker-fired pistols is because nearly all striker fired pistols have little-to-no safety features other than drop-safety. There is nothing to keep your pistol from firing if something accidently catches your trigger while holstering, and most striker pistols are actually *pre-cocked* between 50-90% when they are chambered! That means that while you are carrying, you have a pistol that could theoretically, at any moment, release a primed striker into a live round that is pointed right at your body. DA/SA pistols, such as the P2000, resolve this problem by keeping the trigger in double-action for your first shot. The DA trigger is safter because it requires slightly more pressure and trigger travel to function over most striker triggers. After the first trigger pull, the pistol is then in single-action mode, which gives you a crisper and better trigger than nearly any striker fired pistol. In addition, DA/SA hammer pistols, like the P2000, allow you to keep your thumb pressed against the hammer while rebolstering (or any other activity), which makes it impossible for the trigger to move and fire.

1 year agoPistol arrived at FFL dealer very promptly. Went to the range yesterday and I was very pleased with my results. Used some 17rnd P30/VP9 magazines which operated flawlessly . Nice feel and comfortable to shoot.

1 year agoThere are so many things to love about this! The size is great for lots of different purposes wether you’re into range shooting or if you want to conceal carry. The action is super smooth and fees great. Best of all, it’s probably one of the best feeling pistols I’ve held, with great improved ergonomics over the USP Compact. Doesn’t hurt that it l...Read More Read more about review stating Can’t beat a classic HK handgun

1 year agoVery accurate pistol. Heavy double-action pull requires some training to shoot well, but is effective at preventing accidents. Fit and finish are superb, it's Heckler and Koch.

1 year agoThe description of this pistol said it was in excellent condition inside and out. This did not do justice to the actual condition. This P2000 has never been fired from what I and my FFL could see. No powder marks on the mags, no residue inside the chamber, zero wear on the barrel/slides and the factory lubrication still on the pistol. It also incl...Read More Read more about review stating Pre-owned HK P2000 V3 - beyond my expectations
