1 year agoYes the .300 Win Mag is way more than needed for deer, but I like rifles and all I'm hunting these days are deer and hogs. My .300 is a stock, Remington 700 CDL, 26" barrel. I tried several 150g and 180g factory loads from different manufacturers. These Hornady 180g Interlock Soft Points were the most accurate. I got best 3 shot groups of 3/4" at 100 yds, and 1 5/16" at 200 yds from the bench, in my limited testing. I expect these 180s to be as reliable on deer as the .270, .308, 30 '06, and 7mm
