2 years ago1-1 1/2 MOA @ 100 yds. 1/8 or 1/7 twist needed. As accurate as any match ammo that i have used. Gel penetration @ 11 inch 25ft w/ 16 inch 1/8 barrel. Good fragmentation/expansion. HD round maybe. Hunting round yes. Was ringing steel @ 300 yds with no problem.

2 years agoI’ve probably shot around 500/600 rounds and I like them a lot. Decent price haven’t had many issues with the ammo but the one thing that concerns me is I’ve been seeing dents in the casings. I’ve always liked Hornady but they really need to step up their quality control. And even though I haven’t had any issues yet with their ammunition this is just unacceptable.

2 years agoVery pleased in all respects except for the occasional dented brass casings. Someone is dropping the ball on inspecting the finished product.

2 years agoBoth of my aero precision AR's love this round! Whether it's my 16" 5.56 or my 18" 223 wylde stainless steel, I'm getting at least 1moa on every shot as long as I do my part. So far it's the best round I've tried as far as accuracy goes.

2 years agoThis Hornady 5.56 68gr BTHP ammo shoots very well. I shoot a 1-9 twist barrel that is 18in long. At 50 yards my bullet pattern was approximately an inch. At 100 yards the pattern opened up to 2in. When shooting 5.56 fmj 55gr standard loads I would get 4in or greater patterns. It’s good, clean burning ammo at a reasonable price.

2 years agoThis is some good stuff. 4 stars because my AR15 likes the 75 grain better. I was getting 5 shots about 1 1/4-1 1/2 moa at 100 yards consistently with the 68 grain. The rifle I was using is fairly new, so I know if I shot it more, and settled down more, I can tighten those groups up.

2 years agoThese 68gr hollow points definitely transfer more energy downrange that the .223 55gr I have been burning through.

2 years agoMost within 3 inch disk diameter. 1st set were the best. As rifle warmed up the 3inch flyers would show up after 3 to 4 rounds. 16 inch standard AR. Temp in mid 40's, light winds, 40ish percent humidity, 1200ft ASL.

2 years agoSolid ammo for the price, I’ve seen similar cartridges go for double, I have chosen this round to use in my 20” .223 Wylde 1:8 twist.
