Kent Cartridge Fasteel 2.0 Waterfowl 12 Gauge Ammunition 3" Shell #4

I've used Kent for over 15 years and had good success with them. All shells have patterned well and consistently. The 2.0 has followed in the same way as the shells before.

not bad for the price works good for birds over the decoys but there's better stuff for further passing shots

This stuff ruined the first day of my annual duck camp hunt. Multiple misfires. This is not workable ammo for a Franchi Affinity. I was trying to use 3 inch #4's. Super frustrating.

I liked the old Kent fasteel so thought I’d give this a go. Shot 3” #2 from my Franchise Affinity this year for the early Goose season, no issues at all. The 2.0 seemed to cycle well and although I didn’t pattern it, I dropped a lot of geese so I felt like it was doing what it’s supposed to do. I was very happy with it and will buy it again next year. I do feel like the price is just a tad high though when comparing with other similar shells on the market.

These shells are one of the best balance points between cost and performance I've found. They tend to run clean and hit well at reasonable range. These have become my default shells.

I have shot Kent Fast Steel for waterfowl for over 25 years. I tested the original Fast Steel against all the other steel shell brands and found it had the best pattern on paper and killing power in the field. I shot the 3 inch shells at 1425 ft per sec through a Franchi Affinity 12 gauge using a Kicks High Flyer Full choke for best results. When the new Fast Steel 2.0 came out I did not get the same results with this set up. The new shells were going 1500 ft per sec and did not pattern well. I was disappointed in them but I discovered if I used a Kicks High Flyer Modified choke I got even better results then I did with the original Fast Steel. These are the best shells out there but like all shells you might have to try different chokes to make it right.

I bought a couple boxes of 3" 1-1/4 oz. BBs and a box of 3" 1-1/8 oz. 2s for Canadas and ducks. When they fired they were definitely lethal on ducks and geese, but they would not cycle in my TriStar Viper G2 12 gauge. The old style Kents cycle fine along with multiple different Winchester and Federal rounds in 3" without a single hitch. My hunch is the new powder they use that they claim "reduces felt recoil." They don't have enough umph to bring the bolt carrier back enough for the brass on the shell to hit the ejector nub. Sometimes they cycled and sometimes they didn't after many boxes of testing throughout the season (didn't realize what the problem was till the end of the season). Unfortunate since Kents were my go-to.

these shells out perform or are equal to 5 other brands of shotgun ammo that i have tested (including lead shot) at the patterning board,40yds. only 1 lead shot was equal to it, which i won't name here, but it was much higher priced. will certainly need more Kent Fasteel when hunting season rolls around again.

Kent Fast Steel - 20 Gauge 3in.# 3's worked great for ducks , we got our limit of ducks at short and long range.

The 2.0 are the best shell I've used shot lots of duck and geese with them through my 870 i find they carry really well using bb's for geese making shots at distances ive never made before

I shot these at ducks an geese. Number 4 for duck 2 for geese not a problem. Franchi affinity 3 inch. Good product give them a try

This stuff is not nearly as good as the old Kent Silver Steel. I have consistently been crippling birds with this supposed improved shell. I won’t use this stuff anymore after I rolled a teal over that landed in my decoys 25 yards away. He flopped around a minute before he upright himself and flew away. My Versamax likes lots of different shells , just not these apparently.

I’ve have always been a big fan of Kent. Especially with the previous Silver Steel line of ammo. I used the 2.0 out of my 20 gauge and one round didn’t make it out of the barrel. My action filled with powder etc that didn’t ignite. I’m not sure what happened exactly but the wad got stuck in the end of the barrel. Pellets spit out of the end etc, if this was cheapest round on the market I guess it wouldn’t be a surprise. Maybe the Kent quality control is lacking but it’s having me look at different brands. I won’t be buying more 2.0

One of the very few places I’ve found that carry the 3” 1 3/8oz loads. Seems everyone has 1 1/4oz or 1 1/8oz loads. I like the heavier loads as more pellets = less cripples. Kent, please keep making this load and Cabelas please keep carrying this load.

Kent shoots and patterns well in my gun. I have used it for years and with good success on upland birds and waterfowl

I bought this a few days ago online and when the order arrived I noticed that both of the boxes had been tampered with. They were both taped up with scotch tape and missing ammunition in both. Very disappointing to see from such a big company.

Very good value for Kent waterfowl shells. Have harvested many large Canada Geese with Kent Fasteel 3 1/2 inch shotgun shells. Very effective at reasonable price.

Bought these to use in my semi-auto shotgun's break-in period. I needed 100 rds of 3" 1500fps ammo andthese got the job done. The shells ejected every time wihtout any issues.

Realy nice and helpfull peaople working there and their products are perfect for what i needed it for.
