1 year agoI'm not a big fan of officer sized 1911's in .45 ACP caliber so I decided to step it down a size for once and go with the 40 S&W. I couldn't be more happier. This little guy is a blast to shoot at the range and with the Crimson Trace grips I put on this bad boy for home defense, this little 1911 is the perfect conceal carry and home defense platform. I couldn't be happier with this choice, this is my main conceal carry now (Keep the Sig Scorpion .45 next to my bed at night) and it conceals very well given it's small frame. Haven't had a misfire or jam in over 500 rounds so i'm happy :) James C Mesa, AZ

1 year agoI had a Kimber SS Ultra Carry II for about a year now, never had a problem with it. this gun cycles the rounds very well without a misfeed. The thing I like the most on this gun are light weight , dependable and comfortable for a 45acp. The recoil is noticeable when using a 230gr round but the gun still very accurate but after trying a number of different round of 45acp, I recommend a JHP165 or 185 gr round for better control.

1 year agoI've been wanting this gun for well over a year now and finally received it from my husband for my birthday this January 2013...couldn't be happier!! It's not only beautifully crafted and sexy but easy to carry, easy to use and smooth to shoot. We own multiple guns and this by far is my favorite.

1 year agoThe Kimber I bought from this store was malfunctioning so I sent it to Kimber. They told me the trigger had been set to 3.2 lbs. and a sear had punch marks on it. Someone had done work on this firearm and it was sold to me as brand new.

1 year agoI purchased this pistol about a month ago and have over 600 rounds through it so far. I have had no fail to feed or eject issues during this break in period using FMJ rounds from different US manufacturers. It is also a very accurate pistol and I am pleased with it so far. The single magazine which comes with the pistol seems to be OK and I have not had any problems with it but after reading the reviews from other sites and discussing it with other more experienced users of Kimber products, I ordered different magazines from another vendor. They have worked very well. I held off trying JHP rounds until after 500 FMJs were done in order to break it in. I then tried two different and popular JHP rounds of 200 grain and 230 grains respectively. Unfortunately, I experienced several fail to feed jams on each 20 round box. There is some additional maintenance on the Ultra than what is required on other pistols that I own. An example is replacing the recoil spring every 1,800 rounds. I like to shoot my guns and can sometimes go through 300 plus rounds per gun per month so this is something that I will probably have to replace yearly or more. I will try one or two more brands of JHP and then decide if I will send it to Kimber for work on not. Overall, I love the pistol and the accuracy. I think that if you like 1911 style pistols and the unique things about them, then you will like this pistol. If you like the simplicity of the Glock and Springfield XD style pistols then you may not like it so much.

1 year agoI love the 1911 format, and was a little skeptical about this miniature version, but my experience with it is amazingly positive. I bought a Crimson Trace Lasergrip and the combo is very compact, and as I said in the title much more accurate than you would expect with a 3" barrel.
