1 year agoA sub $1k Kimber 1911? Yes please. This gun is amazing. The trigger is great. The dovetail is the perfect size. I have had no issues with hammer bite. The clearances are perfect, the slide moves flawlessly, the hammer doesn't hit the top of the dovetail, and no excessive play in the trigger. It has a fiber optic front sight. I would prefer a two dot for the rear or at least something to break up the black but it's an easy fix. The rosewood grips are gorgeous. Overall the pistol looks amazing, truly a piece of functional art. Probably the most accurate pistol I own. This is a steal at $850.

1 year agoThis was my first 1911 that i have ever bought. And as well my first kimber firearm. It's an exelent weapon. I am VERY pleased with the design and feel of it. Picked up a bianchi holster to ccw carry it and it was a match made in heaven.

1 year agoPremium quality handgun. The fit and finish is amazing. Very smooth and crisp trigger. Made in America which is a big plus for me. I love it. I have had no problems with it.

1 year agoI've only put about 14 rounds through it as of now. Would've touched some more off but the sun set. Made sure I cleaned and lubed before I set off any rounds. Used regular ball point .230 grain and some tracers, not one malfunction so far, despite some known quality control issues (picky with mags, failure to eject, etc). Though I also hear that Kimber's customer support and warranty is great. It's very accurate, I had the most accurate and good looking pistol at the range. Tolerances are great as well, no rattles before and after stripping it. Would recommend!

1 year agoThis is such a nice firearm! The finish is really good and the fit between parts is terrific, as you should expect at this price range. The trigger feels light and crisp and the heavy metal structure keeps it from recoiling much. Personally I didn't clean or lube it before shooting it first time years ago, but I do clean it frequently now just because I want to keep it in great condition as best as possible. 1911's take a little more work to disassemble compared to a striker-fire but the good news is that cleaning the parts is dead simple since everything is made from steel so you can literally soak the parts (then clean residue off before re-assembly). If I had one small complaint, it's the factory Kimber magazines are less ergonomic than most of the popular aftermarket mags. You'll buy some of those anyway so I don't care much about the factory one. I keep it but prefer others. Ultimately this is a fine piece of fabrication and I can't see ever getting rid of it.

1 year agoGood, tight lock up; excellent fit and finish, great out of the box accuracy and smooth trigger. Overall it's a great gun and well worth the cost, but it would be nice if it came with more than 1 magazine.

1 year agoI have been very pleased with this gun. I had a Trijicon RMR custom mounted (milled into the slide) and I use it for steel matches primarily. It has been 100% reliable from the very beginning - no "break in" period necessary.

1 year agoAwesome firearm. Took it to the range the day it came in and put 300 rounds through it with no problems whatsoever. It's amazingly accurate right out of the box. Grabagun shipped it with lightning speed. They made everything seem so easy. I will definitely by from them again. I was super satisfied from start to finish.

1 year agoBOUGHT mine not quite a year ago, and I'm extremely happy. This thing hits everything you point it at, at 15 yards, even with fixed sights. Sure, you can buy 1911's for twice the price, but all you'd be getting for your money is bragging rights. Bottom line...great gun, at a great price.

1 year agoI was told to stay away from Kimber at a local gun store. Not sure why all the bad PUBLICITY for a specific brand, perhaps they sell quite a few and bad press will always come before the positives. Not all brands are perfect especially when it comes to 1911s. My stainless II 1911 Government KIMBER example has been reliable at the range so far, not a single hiccup. The gun is nicely made, there is a mark near the muzzle on the lower but it doesn't bother me one bit. As far as the Rosewood … Read More

1 year agoI say what a beautiful firearm. Originally I was worried About all the negative issues reported about the kimber 1911. I discovered the negativity is a myth propagated by haters. I have fired mine 100 times from round one no issues.

1 year ago5 stars to grab a gun 3 stars to the kimber to start. The gun came with the rear sight misaligned. that was 25 bucks for a gunsmith to push it to zero. (and yes it was off zero not just me) if you do a thumb over safety grip the safety is not beveled like other 1911s. meaning it while bite web of your hand. i had to pay 60 bucks to get the safety beveled. if you dont know what i mean look at the kimber safety compared to other 1911s. for the past around 500ish rounds the last round … Read More
