1 year agoFriends of mine have had Kimber pistols for some time and they loved them. I have colts and Para full size 45s. I wanted something a little smaller for CC and a buddy bought one and we were out shooting so I tried it. So the next day I was at Bass Pro to purchase one. This pistol is a solid platform that works. Have not had any FTFs, Looks good, Great night sights, Low recoil for a 3in. 45 and is very comfortable to carry all-day. I have around 2100rds. through it and no issues just good shooting. Oh yeah if you own a Kimber you know about tear down if you don't they are a little different but after you done it a couple of times or get a Ultra tool no big deal.

1 year agoI have been carrying a Kimber Ultra CDP for several years during the summer. It is easy to conceal with just a loose shirt. It is also reliable and accurate. It is a high quality pistol as are all the Kimbers I have owned. I recommend using 185 gr HP instead of 230 gr HP ammo with a pistol this small.

1 year agoI've owned numerous 1911 pistols and currently only own a Colt Gold Cup for competition and a Kimber Ultra CDP II for carry. For my money the Ultra CDP is of equal quality to my Gold Cup and has performed extremely well in many conditions. The only upgrades I've made to my CDP is to add a Smith & Alexander Mag Well with lanyard ring and a Laser Grip. These mods allow me to use the pistol for concealed carry, Open carry, duty, and personal use in any environment. If your looking for an all-around 1911 pistol that will last for years, the Ultra CDP II should be your first choice.

1 year agoI have had this pistol for over 5 years and it is one of the best .45's that I have over owned. I have put over 2k rounds through it with all makes of ammo and have never had a FTF or FTE. It is extremely accurate and has a low recoil for a .45.
